Re: Free speech
Most hits isn't a good proxy for content and it suffers the problem of suppressing newer information. Would that they be censoring the newer sites? Sorry, but this is one of those things that REALLY grates me so here we go... Search is a VERY hard problem and I truly don't think enough people think ...

Re: High energy expenditure and APOE 4
Interesting. This is new to me, are there case reports or any reading on this? I guess my best advice is to actually understand insulin resistance, (which even most doctors don't) and insulin resistance is more than HbA1c, fasting glucose and fasting insulin, then it can become evident. Some places...

Re: High energy expenditure and APOE 4
Did Noakes ever actually post bloodwork though? As far as I remember he claimed IR but never posted A1C and/or fasted insulin/blood sugar. It's one of those holes in his story that bothers me. I don't know, but I do know Noakes is not the only person who has become insulin resistant while highly ac...

Re: Worst Labs Ever
I should clarify with the diabetes, it means the labs are worthless. Fasting glucose means very little except if my basal dose is appropriate and even then it could be 80mg/dl one day and mg/dl the next. Same for measuring insulin. My metrics I care about I don't even need an endo for (last A1C was ...

Re: Worst Labs Ever
I'm trying to learn here but what is "good" about those labs? I have fairly similar numbers most recently though APOB/A1 ratio was bad (1.17) and LpPLA2 was very elevated and sdLDL was 60 mg/dl. All this has my lipid doc down on me hard wanting a statin (we tried Repatha to no response) an...

Re: New 3/4 and lost on cholesterol
Thanks! What exactly are you eating? For my athletic endeavors I'm at 2800 calories a day and if I were to lower sat fat even more (which is what it is) I feel like the only way to get there is to drown everything in olive oil but even that has sat fat! EDIT - Oh I see you have VERY detailed writeup...

New 3/4 and lost on cholesterol
Hi all! I'm Shawn and I'm a 30 year old American with T1 diabetes. Because of that I started following a low carb diet maybe 6 years ago and it's gone really well, A1C always normal and I feel as normal as possible. Usually my total cholesterol would be ~230 and I'd resist a statin because I saw no ...
