Re: Improving Sleep
I think his 3x/wk admin of tryptophan could relate to not wanting to upregulate serotonin too much and lead to serotonin syndrome. I'm not sure how he will recommend administering the tryptophan. Is it to take *when* you awake in the middle of the night (and can't fall back asleep) up to 3x/wk. Or ...

Re: Janelle's Lipid Results
I did some 2 hours and even 3 hours to see if I was going back to baseline. Since my glucose seemed to be dropping fine, I've only been doing 2 hours when my 1h was over 120. I'm thinking my juice not spiking too bad might be just that it's mostly vegetables? I'm juicing greens, bell pepper, cucumbe...

Re: Janelle's Lipid Results
Well I am super excited! I think I figured it out! I have been dealing with heart arrhythmia issues that seem to go away within 30 min after drinking coconut water. It's one of the main things that's been keeping me up at night, and I was happy when I found a way to make my heart beat normally. Whil...

Re: Improving Sleep
Janelle, As early as your 30's you can start having anovulatory cycles, which means you aren't getting progesterone produced that cycle. Over time, estrogen can predominate. It's tricky, because you might test in a month where you produce progesterone and everything looks fine. I suggest this, beca...

Re: Improving Sleep
Then: I'm 54. I wondered if it was menopausal related (tho no hot flashes at all. Zilch. And no other menopausal symptoms). Went onto bio-identical HRT and within 10 days was waking only once, and now a month into it I am sleeping 8 and a half hours right through. No other medication at all. Its a ...

Re: Improving Sleep
Things on my list to try... (thanks everyone!) Trying to fix my vitamin D levels (21) Meditation (I seem to wake up with recurrent dreams where I have a moment of fear that snaps me awake -- nothing severe, like dreaming that a bee is buzzing around my head, etc) Finding a better pillow (When I'm re...

Improving Sleep
Hi guys, I know a lot of you have struggled with sleep issues, so I was wondering if you had any advice. I used to have tons of trouble sleeping and was drugging myself with anything I could get my hands on in desperation, but after diet changes (primarily completely avoiding alcohol), I'm doing a l...

Re: Janelle's Lipid Results
Have you signed up for participation in the study with Dr. Bredesen? Even those not chosen to participate in the actual study will still have the opportunity to be followed by him...getting the feedback you're after. You're not too late to sign up. Feel free to ask questions about it; lots to grasp...

Re: Janelle's Lipid Results
Particularly vitamin a as it has been shown to promote cancer metastasis and depletion of vitamin D3 under over absorbtion. If you deplete the amount of vitamin d 3 in the cell then the tp53 anti cancer gene killer will not turn on and angiogenesis will occur. If you don't take sufficient vitamin k...

Re: Janelle's Lipid Results
Thank you guys so much for all the helpful links! I've got a lot of reading to do. I've become quite fond of raw sauerkraut, but have been buying it as opposed to making it. That was my secret ingredient to curing my allergies. ;) It looks like the amount of K2 content in the fermentation will depen...
