Re: New paper from Dr. Gundry on stopping progression of CAD

Let's reiterate the argument: Of countries that have reliable data regarding old age diseases, there is no evidence that e4/4 fare better or worse following radically different diets (e.g. Japan vs Denmark) Therefore it is safe to assume nutrition only has a small impact on AD age of onset for e4/4....

Re: New paper from Dr. Gundry on stopping progression of CAD

My loved ones and respected colleagues do not present false or misleading information in order to sell products. If they did, they would not be loved, or colleagues.

Re: New paper from Dr. Gundry on stopping progression of CAD

But back to the matter at hand - Gundry reports that 800 patients consumed a liter of olive oil a week each. That's quite a lot - 1150 calories/day/patient! I was curious as how you'd get people to do that, or why, so I googled around a bit. Gundry first cites a Spanish study that purportedly had pa...

Re: New paper from Dr. Gundry on stopping progression of CAD

He's a quack with books to sell.

Even if I were to believe his results (I don't at all), I'd assume they were related to weight loss and other lifestyle improvement, and not to his obsession with lectins.

Re: E4: why no urgent push for structure correctors, gene editting?

LG1, for the record, I totally see why Fiver put these two topics together. They both share the quality of seeming like potential outright cures for most dementias, once one realizes how much of LOAD and other dementias (to say nothing of heart disease, and so on) is the result of APOE-ε4–related p...

Re: E4: why no urgent push for structure correctors, gene editting?

Really good question, Fiver. A few years ago a bunch of us met with Drs. Mahley and Huang at Gladstone. They’ve made the most progress with an E4 structure corrector. They gave us an amazing presentation and felt certain the structure corrector Pharma would be available soon . For some unknown reas...

Exercise fails to slow down, might even accelerate dementia

https://www.alzforum.org/news/research-news/exercise-program-fails-ease-dementia A yearlong program of brisk exercise in people with mild to moderate dementia left participants more physically fit, but no better off in terms of mental functioning, daily living, or quality of life. In fact, the inten...

Re: New Gundry Book - The Plant Paradox

You should especially watch out for animals that go quack. http://www.realclearscience.com/blog/2017/05/16/non-celiac_gluten_sensitivity_still_probably_doesnt_exist.html The Plant Paradox book lists 11 ill effects of consuming wheat germ agglutinin. If he's only right on half of them, it's still nas...

Re: A new role for ApoE explains its diverse range of effects, particularly in Alzheimer's

E-Scape Bio, the company working on the APOE4 structure corrector, has held 14 meetings at the Gladstone institute in May, some with Mahley, some with the computational drug discovery company (Numerate). This is up from 3-4 meetings a months previously. Either something is working very well, or ver...
