The issue of Soy

So, is soy beneficial, acceptable, or should be avoided in 4/4?

IIRC, the original version of the Bredesen protocol, IIRC, says to avoid soy. But the 2020 book (that I own) most certainly sees soy as acceptable. This is one of my major confusions regarding my diet--so what's your take on it?

Re: Apoe4, Statins, Cholesterol, APOB, LP (A)

I wonder where to find cardiologists--or maybe even doctors--who have knowledge of this? My numbers seems worse than the OP: LP(a) 158.9 nmol/L (December 2022) Thickening of cartoid artery: None ---- (The following are about a week ago, all in mg/dL) Total cholesterol: 227 HDL: 63.9 (i.e. non-HDL of...

A good summary on Curcumin Preparations

No new research reported there, but it's a great summary of most Curcumin preparations on market. Curcumin Formulations for Better Bioavailability: What We Learned from Clinical Trials Thus Far? Re: Combined metabolic activators improve cognitive functions in AD patients

One-dose CMA included 12.35 g L-serine (61.75%), 1 g nicotinamide riboside (5%), 2.55 g N-acetyl-L-cysteine (12.75%), and 3.73 g L-carnitine tartrate (18.65%).
That's... a really high dose of everything, given I usually just take 600mg of NAC, 2g of Carnitine, and 300mg of NR.

Omega-3 free FA lysinates?

I first heard of Omega-3s as free FAs (to be exact, FA lysinates) from Elysium Matter, but didn't take much attention since it's too expensive either way ($40/30 servings of 250mg DHA+EPA). Now Nootropics Depot sells it as a powder which would be relatively economical ($49.99/80 servings of 170mg DH...

Tranexamic Acid Improves Memory and Learning Abilities in Aging Mice

This is still very early research; I'm somewhat intrigued with it because the molecule in question (Tranexamic Acid) is considered OTC in many countries and is even labeled for such "minor" purposes such as melasma and is seen as (secondarily) an anti-inflammatory. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm....

My rather surprising PreCODE report.

I just got back my PreCODE report yesterday, and I'm puzzled with a few things out of it. Homocysteine continues to be high (8.2uM), despite having been taking the kind of B6/12/folate combination for about 5 years. A/G ratio is fine (2.1) though. Very low A1c (4.7%), but my HOMA-IR is awful (3.99),...

Wife that hates leafy veg

Hello again and sorry for the half-year silence. Now we have settled in San Diego and got some time reading Dr. Bresden's book (the 2020 one specifically). Generally, I don't have too much of an issue with the current 12/3 diet, but I already found a big resistance in adopting it: my wife. Specifica...
