Re: BMJ: Menopausal hormone therapy and dementia: nationwide, nested case-control study

Thanks for the video Theresa. Interesting about the relationship of hot flashes and Alzheimer’s as neither my 105 3/4 mom nor myself ever had, but we have been on HRT since out late 40s to the present.

Re: Oxalates, a potential problem for Keto, Paleo and vegan diets

Susan, what a journey to unscramble oxalates as the culprit. Thanks for sharing. Once I figure out my hypothyroidism, you’ll inspired me to post.

Re: Sudden rise in glucose and insulin??

My TSH hovered high normal for years until the T4 dropped so just monitor with age. My3/4 104 y/o mom runs an optimal (per Dr B) TSH of 2. Amyloid deposition increases in the hypothyroid state but the AD connection have conflicting studies.

Re: Sudden rise in glucose and insulin??

Have your doctor add on a free T4. Last year my TSH was high but they just repeated the TSH in a few months, when it came down it just under 5. This year TSH was high again but I had the T4 added on, confirming hypothyroidism. I need to post soon what a dramatic difference treatment of hypothyroidis...

Re: Infected Root Canal / Dental Implant Recommended

Since I had a bone graft the first time, it was recommended for me to have some conscious sedation by my dentist, the surgeon was willing to forego these additional drugs. Since I had so much preoperative apprehension, the low dose of Valium before the procedure was added to the "light sedation...

Re: Dental crown replacement with zirconia or ceramic?

I've had so much dental work over the decades partially due to the lack of fluoride in my childhood water, sugar gum in my teens and overaggressive dentistry. Now I have a woman conservative dentist that I trust. The past few years, I've been plagued with gum pockets which tightened up with three t...

Re: Dental crown replacement with zirconia or ceramic?

If we both opt to get all of our teeth pulled and use the savings for our fabulous vacations, we might have a chance to meet. Paris, maybe? Yes, please! 8-) I've actually been willfully rebelling against the protocol to remove asymptomatic teeth that had root canals, remove all mercury (I wou...

Re: I guess I'll be taking a statin

Over the past 5 years, the masks have improved and more specialists are starting out at low pressures, allowing an auto-adjusting machine to determine pressures. My husband failed initially and remained off for years, as they set too high for starting pressures and gave him a full-face mask. Please ...

Re: I guess I'll be taking a statin

The gene is rs12506228; the bad allele is A. The result was in a "FoundMyFitness" report. From the ad for FMF I thought it would tell me what supplements would be best for me but that wasn't what it turned out to be at all. WhatNext, I have the same rs12506228 A/A gene (on top of ApoE4/4 ...

Re: apoe4, breast cancer and sleep apnea.

Back in 2014, I posted on sleep apnea's correlation with Apoe4 (https://forums.apoe4.info/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=366&p=2999#p2999). They discovered that those with Apoe4 were thinner, not the typical body type associated with sleep apnea. Dr. Bredesen mentions on his cognoscopy list to rule out...
