Thanks so much for these notes and papers, JNB. They are truly great thoughts and points.

interesting paper and work. sort of creates more questions than answers, but every little step forward is useful.

Re: Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector
Aphorist. Good question. The Alzheon studies didn't look at different time of day dosing. I'm not sure it would make a huge difference, but, like you, I haven't yet fully digested the Nemergut paper. I'm aiming for the apoE4 structure corrector function, which makes me want to take homotaurine thro...

Re: Periodontitis / Gingivitis / Gum Disease in E4/E4
Does anyone know how to be tested for P. Gingivalis? Additionally, I found these interesting papers re: P Gingivalis Kobayashi, R., Oral administration of Lactobacillus gasseri SBT2055 is effective in preventing Porphyromonas gingivalis-accelerated periodontal disease. Sci Rep 7, 545 (2017). https:/...

Re: Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector
I'm just catching up on this thread and material. It reminds me somewhat of EPPS: EPPS rescues hippocampus-dependent cognitive deficits in APP/PS1 mice by disaggregation of amyloid-β oligomers and plaques https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms9997 https://forums.apoe4.info/viewtopic.php?t=1957 I hav...

Re: Modifiable risks and APOE 4/4
I'd be careful of Attia's general guidance for health and then applying it to a E4/4. He seems to advocate a higher protein intake, that could be problematic for some people without some kind of fasting regimen or intermittent restriction.

Re: Labcorp's p-tau 181 pricing
It seems like p-217 is available from Alzpath, although I can't seem to find where exactly -- as they apparently don't have a doctor/provider locator tool on their website for prospective test candidates. Does anyone know when/where pTau-217 might be available from larger providers like Labcorp or Q...

Re: Labcorp's p-tau 181 pricing
Is there a quick wiki or explanation somewhere that gives an overview of p-181 vs. 42/40 vs. p-217 ?
I think I know some of the answers, but I just wonder if there is a consolidated set of info somewhere.

Re: ApoB question for lipid nerds
My guess is that the lower LDL-P would be reflected as each low density lipoprotein has an ApoB attached that has nothing to do with it's cargo — LDL-C. Does that seem to be correct? The discordance and hypothesized benefit is that lower ApoB with the same LDL-C would require lower LDL-P. And conse...

Re: elevated LDL from fasting versus exogenous fat consumption
One could probably self-test this over a period of time (say 60 days) by doing the two routines 1. Intermittent fasting (say one meal a day, 3-8% or less SFA intake) and 2. diet higher in SFA, regular eating. (three meals a day, 15%+ SFA). Then go get a NMR lipoprofile after each 60 day period and s...
