Re: MyHeritage.com Test - ApoE4?

Thank you both for your informative and really helpful replies. So I think I will get the test from MyHeritage.com and upload it to other services to get answers on what variant of the ApoE4 gene I have. My quest to get the answer on what variant of the gene I have is primarily so that I can decide...

Can you post a link to the poll? I also can't find it above this post. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Hi joseph, The poll is currently closed, and the study idea has been put on hold. You may want to read my reply right above your post, to see some other options for studies. Hope this helps.

Re: MyHeritage.com Test - ApoE4?

Hello, everyone. I am new here and from a non-english speaking country. MyHeritage.com offers a test in my country which according to their info would tell me of my risk of late-onset Alzheimer's. However, it is not clear to me whether the test will answer whether I do have the ApoE4 variant or not...

Re: I am a new member

I found out recently (thru 23 and me) that I am APOE4. Next week I will have the blood test done to be more exact. My doctor thinks I might me APOE3/APOE4 because I am Hispanic. I have been reading what I can find in the internet to educate myself about all this which is new to me. I am concerned b...

Re: Doubts, Depressing Reviews

Wondering if others have read the single star reviews of The End of Alzheimer's on amazon. Many people seem to express the knee jerk opinion that it's snake oil. I have to say, the commercialization demonstrated by Apollo Health and their slick ads are very much of a turn-off and move the dial towa...

Re: Just got results, I carry 2 E4 genes, I have questions!

I just got results from 23 and me, I carry 2 APOE e4 genes, but my questions are, what if any symptoms have people had throughout their lives? I'm just trying to see if there is a correlation between these genes and my symptoms. I will list symptoms I've had/have, please let me know. I am just abou...

You are right about protecting your hearing. I also have tinnitus from 1970. I meditate focusing on the ringing. Sorry you have this too! All to common and even more so as environment noise pollution steadily increases...Although, for many years I've just tuned the tinnitus out. I seldom even notic...

Re: A4 Study: Double Down on Alzheimer’s

Might imply something about the amyloid hypothesis? Instead of "doubling down," it might be time to look up and expand mainstream thinking on how to treat this multifactorial disease process. I have a variety of Google alerts set up on AD, dementia, studies, etc. I am amazed at how they k...

Re: New here 4/4

I am 4/4. My mother's only sister was also 4/4 (mom passed at 51 before I could test her). My Aunt S started showing symptoms early 50's, was non verbal by 60, passed at 70. I had mentally prepared to somewhat follow her path even with diet/exercise/knowledge. I just checked her rs5882 and it was A...
