Study participants recruited for intranasal treatment

In case anyone is interested, here is a study looking for participants as discussed in the local news. It may be a little late but may be worth it to you or yours. - http://kstp.com/news/alzheimers-disease-nasal-spray-development/4394939/ and the more recent followup indicating they got a lot of vol...

Re: General Systems Thinking ... Thinking about the problem at hand

And of course one has to factor in the cost of searching for optimal..... I guess everyone's sweet spot will be different as they will weigh costs differently. Absolutely! Think of it as return/benefit on investment. In terms of money, if I invest a dollar and get a dollar back (breakeven), was it ...

Re: General Systems Thinking ... Thinking about the problem at hand

One final thought (I think) In grad school I took the course titled Operations Research(Yuck). Here is the little I learned (or retained): - Operations Research looked to solve problems like optimization of multi-variable problems (Like what is the optimal route for the traveling salesman to take. O...

Re: General Systems Thinking ... Thinking about the problem at hand

The human mind/brain is exceptional at pattern identification (which is why those captcha work for people but not machines (yet)). But when we manage patterns, we tend to employ reductionist thinking. We like to simplify things. It eases the mental load. A reductionist example from a few years back:...

Re: Dr. Steven Gundry with diet recommendations for ApoE4

Ruth Patterson notes that in a breast cancer recurrence study, breast cancer survivors who fasted >=13 hours starting at 8PM or before had a 40% lower chance of recurrence. This benefit went away if the fast started after 8PM. That is really quite fascinating. It likely will affect my IF timing and...

Re: ??B Vitamin that doesn't taste so gnarly??

I'm guessing the the formulation may be the problem ... I'm taking a complex and it seems you are taking B12 standalone: - I take methylcobalamin as part of a multi-B complex and it is nasty (at least they don't give the thrill niacin causes!) - Susan indicates a slight taste that does not persist a...

Re: Dr. Steven Gundry with diet recommendations for ApoE4

Bredesen and others often call for 2 or 3 hours fast before bedtime. Does anyone know if that reason/purpose or was it simply "because"? Or put another way, is 15 hours fast with 3 before bedtime functionally equivalent to 15 hours fasting starting at bedtime?
