Re: Losing Weight

One such example is that I was told if we eat too much protein, it can throw off keto and halt weight loss so I didn't know how much was too much! I'll just aim for 1.1g/kg LBM right now and see how that goes. I have to mention I just got discouraged with weight loss being super slow (or not coming...

Re: Dental crown replacement with zirconia or ceramic?

What material should we choose for a dental crown replacement on a molar tooth? Zirconia, porcelain or ceramic? I heard zirconia is more durable but it's a metal after all (!) and I am worried about the problems that come along with having metal in your mouth over a long period of time (toxicity?)....

Another thought, before you talk to your doc, there may be considerations for long term care insurance or life insurance of having this in your medical records. This is discussed a bit in our wiki.

Re: New member with some questions...

1. Am I overreacting? Should I be worried and immediately contact my Dr. based on this info or am I doing the right things currently and just need to relax? I'm a 3/4 married to a 4/4 woman. I'm 65 and she's 61. I'd relax and just pay attention to the big drivers: metabolism, exercise, sleep, stres...

Re: High energy expenditure and APOE 4

It seems like the protocol is suited towards those who have sedentary lifestyles, with no regards to the Pro/Recreational athletes among us. The physiology of a highly active person is quite different to that of a sedentary being, who has to force themselves to move due to their workplace environme...

Re: Virtual Book Club: The End of Alzheimer's Program

] Thanks sooo much JML!! On sleep & sleep tape. There are a number of links in this post on breathing. Here are a couple of sleep tape options (I use the strips on the left). The Myotape is more expensive, but doesn't seal your lips and here are more details on it (first link for Myotape ships f...

Re: Alzheimer's caregivers, guardians, and conservators

is anyone familiar with whether the protocols recommended for dealing with Alzheimers can also be used to help with this disease? I did searches on Huntington's and Bredesen and Huntington's and Wahls (the MS doc who put her MS in remission through diet & lifestyle). In Terry Wahls' case, Hunti...

Re: I'm 22, learned I'm 4/4, and have been filled with anxiety and depression since.

I know a lot of my fears and anxiety come from a place of selfishness. I've always been a dreamer, dreaming that I'll do big things or do something relevant and make my parents proud, and that better things are to come. I just wish I never knew about APOE4. At 22, don't worry. I have a 31 year old ...

Re: E4 Reactions to COVID Vaccine

Ooooh, new toys! I've sent you a PM. Don't see it, though happy to respond to one. FWIW, the devices are the single lead Kardia and the iHeart pulse wave velocity device. For what it is used for, the Kardia is quite good. The iHeart is variable, though I can see the variability in the pulse wavefor...

Re: Coconuts, coconut oil

I need some pure fat sources to reach my daily percentage of fat! But we aren't "allowed" butter, heavy cream, etc. I'll reread the section you suggested, but right now I am kind of at my wit's end on how to get that fat consumption up. It really depends on how you and your body responds....
