Re: San Diego Meet Up

Is the weekend a possibility for you, Maureen? Since SoCal Guy can’t meet weekdays, maybe we can look towards setting up something on a Saturday once my schedule is more flexible.

San Diego Meet Up

Anyone interested in a Meet Up in San Diego County? Seems like there will be a much better possibility of face to face meeting with others from the ApoE4.Info community here in southern California than in my little village in northern New Mexico. I will be out here until January 25th. No specificati...

Re: ApoE 2/4 and diet

I just found out that I’m Apoe2/4 and I’m trying to figure some things out. Although I have the 4 variant, I’m encouraged by the fact that even if I have maybe a 20% chance of AD, that means that I have an 80% chance of not getting AD. I’m 64 and I still have a great short-term and long-term memory...

Re: Elevated blood sugar on krill oil

I feel like I frequently have the opposite reaction to supplements that are expected! My fasting glucose is always my highest of the day, not sure if that is related to anything. I will discuss with my FM dr but was curious if anyone else here experienced the same and might know why such a thing wo...

Re: Vitamin A protects cognition in E4 carriers

ah...good news : I have been doing something right, getting benefits for a problem I didn't even know I had until i read this thread and checked my results on Promethease. Have homogeneous SNPs for all except the rs12934922.
But I have been regularly nipping at cod liver oil for at least a decade.

Re: Unfortunate side effect from melatonin.

Oh my gosh! I went through a few weeks of serious digestive issues. I tried anti-diarrhea medications, probiotic yogurts, BRATT diet, etc. Nothing was helping. I was ready to go to the doctor fearing I had a SERIOUS health issue. Then I recalled the only thing new to my regiment was Melatonin. My o...

I look forward to being a part of this community with all of you and learning as much as I can. Welcome, FrostyLawman, Chameleon’s suggestion that you start with the Primer is as great one. It provides an overview of the ApoE4 allele and is a wonderful resource, written by a physician member. It in...

Re: Elevated blood sugar on krill oil

Does anyone experience elevated blood sugar while using fish or krill oil? Does anyone know what this means when it happens? Maybe just that the dose is too big, or maybe there is another issue going on? It seems that the Omega-3 supplementation is highly recommended but it seems to increase my blo...

Re: Effectiveness of Bredesen's Protocol for the Eighties

According to the typical descriptions of the various types of Alzheimer's, it would seem that they could be showing signs for Type 2 Alzheimer's, but that has not been officially determined. The question they are wanting me to help them wrestle through is looking at the cost of the programs along w...

Re: Effectiveness of Bredesen's Protocol for the Eighties

I'm still rather new at all this on this forum, so you may not have been notified of my response to you above (my bad!). I'll repeat just a part of my response, but maybe you'd want to look at my full response earlier. In response to your answers above, I'd have a follow-up question: 1&2. I don...
