Re: Hello and my research :)

What I am looking for, to enable this research, is people who are willing to share their genetic information (confidentially) and fill out a number of questionnaires for me. This would remain confidential and no individual data would be reported, merely correlations for the purpose of research. Car...

Re: Gut Bacteria

It’s notable that a high fat diet decreases Akkermansia muciniphila , but in most instances, the article refers to the “Western high fat diet,” which is high in saturated fat. My understanding is that saturated fat is what causes an increase in LPS in circulation, so perhaps following a ketogenic d...

Re: The Ketogenic Diet: A Neurologist’s Warning

More recently, her now 87 year old sister was presenting with dementia. Her son, my cousin, chatted with me about it. I suggested supplementing his mother with caprylic acid (C8), a medium chain triglyceride that will stimulate the liver to produce the ketone betahydroxybuterate (BHB). I wasn't sur...

Re: Experiences with Low Dose Naltrexone

So far my FM pain has been worse overall since starting LDN. The one improvement that keeps me going is gut motility. I read the Pheonix Rising posts and see that some people don’t tolerate this drug. I suppose I’m not willing to give up yet—so much promise! But does anyone here know whether or not...

Re: Disturbed sleep & AD

https://hypoxico.com/altitude-to-oxygen-chart/ Hi Marie. Here is a chart noting oxygen percent by altitude. Millions of people around the world (Bogota for instance) live in an oxygen environment of under 15% seemingly without ill effect. That’s impressive—and somewhat reassuring I hope. And I woul...

Re: Disturbed sleep & AD

Because several posters in this thread speculated upon the possible deleterious effects on the brain if one lives at altitude I thought I’d throw this out as a kind of PS to the discussion. The study indicates that not only is it not harmful to live at elevation but perhaps is positive. A bit of a ...

Re: Science based 'Genius Gym' app to promote simultaneous physical and cognitive challenge

I also wonder about physical exercise combined with meditation. It's not the same as stillness meditation, but one can be practice mindfulness meditation while exercising. I recommend Tai Chi. Tai Chi (or Qigong) is an excellent way to combine meditation and exercise. Tai Chi is often called "...
