Re: Partner found out she's 4/4 - she's OK with it, I'm not

I understand from your replies and what I have read so far that many on this forum manage to maintain a very optimistic outlook, something I hope to achieve - Many thanks again for the replies, I'm still fairly early in this 'journey' and my reading / processing continues, hopefully with a progress...

Re: Newbie 2/4 with odd lipid profile

I appreciate the info. It's very reassuring to know there are other outliers. I look forward to learning more through these boards and the wiki. My doc seems unconcerned about the lipids, so I'll relax about it. Ultimately, we control what we can and hope for the best. I'll concentrate on improving...

Re: Losing Weight

Does apoe.info not inform us of responses to our posts anymore? I never get any and just happen upon them when I come online. Or wait, would they suddenly be going to my spam? Hmmmm.....I'll check. Hi Jan18, You should be getting a notification when there is a response to your post but that only ha...

Re: Newbie 2/4 with odd lipid profile

Those HDLs are crazy! Apparently I'm a walking bottle of olive oil. Has anyone experienced anything similar with their HDLs? Thanks for reading, Marie PDX Greetings from a fellow walking bottle of olive oil! In every blood test over the last decade, my HDL is always above 100, mainly in the 110-117...

Re: Newbie 4/4 trying to stay positive!

Thank you! That’s interesting to note. My Gran was pre-diabetic actually (she’s 87 today and in good health - no AD) but she has managed to get back to a normal range now. She does love cake too though! I’m not aware of anyone else’s status in the family. My grandfather is 88 and no AD. My other gr...

Re: Any updates on rs2075650 with APOE4/4 + family history?

Thanks, Floramaria, I think that's what the number was back in 2018 too. Maybe that SNP isn't getting the same attention for statistical analysis the way that APOE4 has. Yes, you may be right about that. I did a little poking around the internet and saw a Nov 2020 Meta-Analysis, but not any links t...

Hi Jmac, just checking in with you to see how things are going with your full-blown ReCODE. Thriving, I hope!

Re: Celebration Thread! Biogen is going to the FDA with Aducan.

Yes, I think that we now need to be aware that genetic uplift is starting. Life will never be the same. Natural reproduction is no longer plausible. Might not be that long before it is illegal. The idea of simply spinning the genetic roulette wheel is already absurd. Human traits are polygentically...

Re: Newbie 4/4 trying to stay positive!

Hello everyone, I am new here having discovered by APOE 4/4 status a couple of days ago. I don’t know much about genetics, but reading through what you found on Promethease, it sounds like you do have some protective genes. I especially like the “longer telemeres, longer life” SNP! That one seems l...

Re: Any updates on rs2075650 with APOE4/4 + family history?

I’m curious whether there’s new information on rs2075650 and its correlation with Alzheimer’s. Has anyone seen more recent info on rs2075650 and its impact on Alzheimer’s probabilities? I recently saw a slide in a genetics presentation showing that a Meta-analysis of studies indicate rs2075650 may ...
