Re: Starting Suppliments
Welcome to the forum! Please use caution with supplements, it really is like the wild West in that you need to 'fend for yourself'. Those manufacturers want your money and will use every marketing trick in the book. Supplementing should be very personalized and should also adjust with your diet and ...

Thanks for sharing apo. FWIW, I target Ferritin 50-100. As a meat eater, my Ferritin tends to climb over time. I had to donate blood once about five years ago and it has been under 100 ever since. In your mind, what is your optimal ferritin? Now that I am plant based, I keep an eye on ferritin for t...

What is this APOE-4 diet you speak of? To my knowledge, every major health group across the globe suggests less than 30% fat for 3/3 and even less for APOE 4's. You added fat and your cholesterol went up. Your TC is around 250? This elevated cholesterol level will increase the rate at which you grow...

Re: Glucose Tolerance Test Thoughts?
You drank 75 grams of pure glucose, fasted, for this test? If so, this looks OK to me. Your pancreas is to be envied. Try testing 1 hour after meals. I would love to learn what you've found when comparing an ogtt to actual meals. I think you'll find fiber helps and slower digesting carbs won't trigg...

Re: Cholesterol targets and genetic risk for chronic liver disease
In my mind, there really is no doubt about it, total cholesterol over 150 predisposes us ~4's for trouble down the road. Look for RCT's where they have did angiograms or autopsies -real data with metrics. It becomes pretty obvious. Very often, cancer patients have low cholesterol. Their bodies are g...
