Re: Mitochondrial Dysfunction in E4 carriers
Alysson, Does your ex feel like the neutrotransmitter balancing program was effective and worth doing? Mixing Hinz’ ideas of balancing neurotransmitters with amino acid precursors with the nutragenomics popularized by Amy Yasko could work very well. Several years ago, I was hired by a Hinz associat...

Gallbladder pain and ketogenic diet
I am APOe 4/3. It is difficult for me to eat enough fat to be in solid ketosis without gallbladder pain. With only moderate fat in my diet, I have to eat as close to zero carbs as possible and very low protein in order to stay in ketosis. Any saturated fat such as MCT oil causes pain. I can get away...

Re: Intermittent fasting, coffee, autophagy
From one of the first articles to come up: "Altogether, these results indicate that coffee triggers 2 phenomena that are also induced by nutrient depletion, namely a reduction of protein acetylation coupled to an increase in autophagy. We speculate that polyphenols contained in coffee promote h...

Intermittent fasting, coffee, autophagy
Some background--I am 3/4. I have been in ketosis most of the time for a few years. My A1C has gone from about 6 to about 5 and I lost 80 lbs. I still eat as low carb as possible. Eating a high carb meal used to take me out of ketosis for days. Now I am getting metabolically flexible in that I can h...

Re: Supplements making things worse
You can look at the methylation related genes that can suggest appropriate types of vitamin b and other supplements for her genotype by entering the 23andme raw data into something like genetic genie website. Some people will do very badly on the amount of methylated b12 sometimes recommended, for e...
