Re: e4/e4 new member

I wanted to clarify hat Gundry does accept medical insurance-- he was on my panel and I was able to see him for my co-pay. Was this a call or in office visit? I know he accepts insurance for in-office. George-- I saw him in person so that I could use my insurance. It's a great option if you happen ...

Ashwaghanda is a nightshade

Since starting the Gundry Matrix plan 6 months ago, I've not been able to shed my psoriasis (no pun intended :)), and I had to start looking at whether some of my supplements were the culprit. Typically my psoriasis goes away on a clean food regime. I had a sense it might be triggered by the ashwagh...

Re: The Homocysteine/AD connection

After 6 months on 1,000 mcg methyl- B12 and 800mcg methy-folate, my homocysteine only went from 11 to 10. I was just told to take 5,000 mcg per day of methyl- B12 and continue same dosage of methyl folate, retest in 6 months and if homocysteine is not <7, add TMG. I am heterozygous for MTHFR c677t.

Re: Test for oxidized LDL

Woo hoo, AB4Me! Out of curiosity, do you know what your oxLDL level was? My oxLDL is 47.8 (<=60 consider d in control, 60-70 moderate, >70 high risk) LDL= 123 sdLDL = 25 ApoB= 107 Lp(a) = 26 I was told not to worry about any of my numbers, since sdLDL and oxLDL numbers are good. Gundry also said th...

Test for oxidized LDL

I saw Dr Gundry this week, and was interested to learn of a new test he's doing, through Vibrant Health America, that assesses your level of oxidized LDL. Many of us here are very concerned with what could be considered higher LDL sub-particles. I had a low number, and was told that I'm someone who ...

Re: Chris Masterjohn on saturated fat

Pre-Gundry, I was eating alot of saturated animal fat (which included grass fed red meat, pork, ghee, cheese, and fairly sizable portions). I eliminated all from my diet (except for a very occasional tiny portion of meat), and did not see a shift in my cholesterol numbers. In fact, my numbers looked...

Re: Chris Masterjohn on saturated fat

I'm currently ignoring my lipids. Both my parents (each with at least one 4 allelle) lived into their late 80s with no CVD issues. Both died with AD. Mum almost 90. Dad 87. My coronary calcium scan is zero. When I see hard evidence linking lipids with AD I will reassess. In the meantime I feel pers...

Re: Gundry Lab Retest data, 6 month follow up visit next week

I lost about 10 pounds, and according to Gundry I'm not a hyper-absorber. Thanks for the great feedback, I was feeling like the dietary changes hadn't had much impact.
