Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?
Circular/THEBrain Thanks for the comments. I did find some parameters on the NeuroQuant website that looked like info on which older MRI's might be read in the software. I'll need to get the details on the older machines. Haven't gotten around to talking to Cortechlabs/NeuroQuant yet. My scheduled M...

Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?
TheBrain, A set-back on getting a brain MRI with volume calculations. My neurologist's nurse called me today and let me know that he would not write an order for an MRI unless it was done by the Neuromedical facility - where there is no brain volume MRI capability to my knowledge (I had previous MRI...

Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?
Brain (The), I’m not in NC (although I wish I was). The facility I found was in Covington (north of New Orleans). I will attempt to make sure that I’m going to end up with some paper that indicates the particular brain area and the volume % (compared to expected volume for my age?) before I get the ...

Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?
Terrific info. I was able to locate a company named Diagnostic Imaging Services today that apparently offers NeuroQuant Volumetric MRI’s at some of their sites. Only about 80 miles from my house! Appears they just provide imaging services and try to capture a large segment from other medical organiz...

Re: What is considered atrophy in a brain structure per MRI volumetrics (NeuroQuant and Neuroreader)?
A brain is what I need these days. Finding THE BRAIN must be my lucky day! I would like to consider getting a MRI brain volume calculation. I have some MRI CD's from 2 years ago and have a fresh one scheduled soon. Would you know (1) what would one need to do in order to get a volume calculation (hi...

Re: SSRIs might decrease amyloid plaques
xactly: Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the late reply been swamped. I'll look into your suggestions. I did try 5-HTP (a tryptophan precursor if I remember correctly) a while back, but id not see any improvement, but I was under a lot of stress then.

Re: SSRIs might decrease amyloid plaques
Glad you found us, Asia :D At age 39, you are perfectly poised to avoid the ill effects of ApoE4. Congrats on all of the positive changes so far! Re. SSRI's, it might be worthwhile to have your serotonin level checked. A group of researchers from Georgetown recently identified 10 metabolite deficie...

Re: Heavy Metals testing
HI Em Did you intend to do both tests initially, or was it due to the results of the first test? I kind of take it that you might prefer the challenge test (is this also called a provocation method?). I probably should take the method that is most accurate as my cognitive issues are slipping away fa...
