Re: Julie Rowin, MD / Westchester, IL
Dr. Rowin says she uses the ReCODE protocol to achieve the levels recommended by Dr Bredesen but hasn’t taken his course. I’m very pleased with my results under her care so far.

Re: 4/4 teenager
My daughter just learned she is 4/4, which means her teenagers are at least 4/? They both play soccer, so I worry about headers. I think age-appropriate conversations will be the key as they get older. My daughter is already improving her family lifestyle in response to learning her 4/4 status. I ga...

Re: Hormone Replacement Therapy E4 Women
I managed to be a guest at the AAIC2018 conference in Chicago on July 23 and heard a fascinating presentation by Dr. Walter Rocca and others about HRT and AD. This is the elevator version: Since women are 2/3 of the AD patients, the disparity may be explained in part by the sudden decline in estroge...

Re: Aluminum as a causal factor of Alzheimer's - Introduction of myself to the community
I have been using a Whirlpool under-sink reverse osmosis filter for years, but I have just read some reviews that say it is poor at removing aluminum but good at removing microbes. Has anyone had experience with this brand? Maybe I should just run my RO water through a Zero Water pitcher filter. Is ...

Re: Sleep!
Julie is right - have you tried meditation? I often use the Insight Timer app. It has a veritable smorgasbord of types and times from which to choose. It helps me turn off the movie in my brain, and I'm usually asleep by the time the session ends. Blue-blocker reading glasses also help if I'm on my ...

Re: 23 and Me Kit Information
My daughter just got her 23 and Me results. She is 4/4, which was a shock to me since I’m 4/3 (her dad died at 50 but one of his sisters has LOAD). She was more shocked that she has 0.2% sub-Saharan African genes. She’s 45 so has a long time to practice good habits. I guess that means both of her ki...

Re: Need info on genetic testing
I want to run my 23&me results through Promethease, but I'm not sure which option to choose. They run from $10 to $99. Which one gives the information that we need? Thanks.

Re: Morning mineral cocktail?
For leg cramps, have you tried putting a bar of aromatic soap between the sheets at the end of your bed? That, together with rubbing lavender body lotion on my legs before bed, has greatly reduced leg cramps and improved my sleep.

Re: Julie Rowin, MD/ Westchester, IL
I’m not sure. I’ll ask when I go back in August for follow up. She gave me a list of supplements to take to optimize my levels, so I assumed she was using ReCODE. I’ll let you know.

Search for New Gene
Here is a link to a fascinating article on the search for a new gene in a single family: https://www.statnews.com/2017/09/11/alzheimers-disease-gene-family/?utm_campaign=trendmd-internal Dr. Rudy Tanzi is mentioned prominently in Dr. Bredesen's book. Also, my genealogy sleuthing found that Jessica C...
