Re: Questions on diet

There are multiple types of SIBO. I believe the antibiotics have about a 50% success rate on the hydrogen type, but only a 20% success rate on the methanogen type. With the methanogen type it’s harder to kill the archaebacteria involved—they’re tricky and like to hide out, play dead. One thing I wil...

Re: Questions on diet

When myself or my kids had multiple diagnoses at once, we always sat down with our doctor and listed them in order of the top three things dramatically impacting our life. And then we worked down the list. Most of the diets you listed are going to help the others. They may not cure each item, but ea...

Re: Sleep Tracker

I don’t feel sleepy. I never ever would have taken that much on my own! No, it’s not for APOE4. I started seeing him because I wanted a GP who understood Epigenetics and who could help me walk that fine line APOE4/4 demands. I wasn’t in his office five minutes though before he waved off any talk of ...

Re: Milk alternatives?

Walnut milk is similar: 1 cup of raw walnuts, soaked, then blended with 4 cups of warm water. Strain in a fine mesh bag. I’ll add that I save the pulp I get from making these milks, and freeze them. Then when I have enough I put them in fine mesh bags in a dehydrator to make my own flour. It’s quick...

Re: Milk alternatives?

Hemp milk is pretty easy and inexpensive to make. I buy hemp seed in bulk on amazon, 2lbs for $18. It’s 1/2 cup of hemp seed to 4 cups warm water in a blender, blend and strain. It comes out to be about $1.50/quart.

Re: More questions about diet

So a few things...people DID have diabetes and Alzheimer’s back then, we just didn’t know how to diagnose them as such. I’ve seen historical pieces that reference sugar in the urine in the 17th century. Also, people didn’t tend to live such an old age, so this may not be much of an argument to hang ...

Re: NR and NMN

I’m in the middle of reading his book. Much of it is well over my head, so I am appreciating the podcasts because they help repackage some of the info in a way that makes sense to me. Then I go back and reread that portion of the book and it clicks. Well, most of the podcasts at least. The Joe Rogan...

Re: Sleep Tracker

I recently started seeing a new GP who specializes in Epigenetics. Within fifteen minutes of entering his office with my reports he had me on a new supplement protocol at night: Gaba 1g, L-theanine 400mg, melatonin 10mg. I’ve focused on my circadian rhythms for three years now and have impeccable sl...

Re: NR and NMN

I have listened with great interest to multiple podcasts with David Sinclair, and I know others here have as well. His information on NR and NMN were very interesting (financial conflict of interest aside). Can anyone here report extended use of either supplement and how labs have been affected? I ...
