Re: Water Fast

Ok, great thoughts, folks! Just for clarity, I don't have diabetes :) I can't seem to find the Hopkins LDL calculator, other than articles that talk about it...am I missing something? The curious thing is to why my triglycerides exploded by 400%, I think I'll test in a day or two and see if that's s...

Re: Water Fast

Well Tincup, that's good news (for a change)! I know 119 might not sound like a good LDL to many but with the high LDL's I've been seeing recently, I'll take it :) Now if my Trig/HDL ratio wasn't so high (since the fast, only), I'd break out the (natural) champagne; https://www.docsopinion.com/2014/...

Re: Intermittent Fasting

I see your point. However, I think it's also important to be clear about the facts as we know them at this moment in time. There's a danger that with Chinese whispers, we end up in a situation where we accept that IF doesn't stop with other than water. Then we end up confusing everyone. If I recall ...

Re: Water Fast

Hi Tincup, 1. Results of Cardiochek PA are reasonably consistent with my physician drawn bloods, within about 10-15%, I'd say. I use an app on my mobile to measure the lux intensity and keep the device at the same lux measurement for each test, out of direct/overhead light. Trig's seem to correspond...

Re: Water Fast

Has anyone else any thoughts as to why my HDL has halved and my triglycerides have increased by 400% on this keto diet?

Re: Water Fast

I decided to discontinue the water fast because I'd to go back to work, however, I felt great. I have done 3 extended water fasts (13, 17, 19 days), and each time I continued to work without having any cognitive / brain issues... I didn't think there would be any issues either, as I felt fine. Howe...

Re: Water Fast

Some unwelcome changes there. I have been low carb since 2014 and regular fasting since July 2016. It took a while for my body to sort itself out on the new way of eating. My HDL/Tri ratio has been less than one for the last nine clinical tests. I am a regular exerciser. We are all different and I ...

Water Fast

4.5 Days Water Fasting I decided to try a water fast, having done a few episodes of various iterations of the fasting mimicking diet, including Prolon. https://www.apoe4.info/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3470 I had found these FMD diets just caused hunger and wanted to try a water fast, to see if it was a...
