I think I recall that the lipidologist Thomas Dayspring recommends a desmosterol test before putting Apo E4's on statins. He seems to be the current favourite of Attia for lipids.
I'm in the same situation as you, lipids-wise and waiting to see a cardiologist.

I'm in the same boat with high-ish LDL (4/150 to 5/190) and having all sorts of statins being waved in my face!
HDL is 1.3/52 ish
Trigs are 0.6/50 - 0.9/80

I take two or three softgels of the OmegaVia DHA 600 daily and seafood two to three times per week, usually.

It refers to Hibiscus Sabdariffa in the research paper. This seems to be the main varietal (if that's the correct word) used in hibiscus tea worldwide.
