Re: Potential new treatment target for Alzheimer's disease [Debio-025, a Cyclophilin A suppressor]

Rhonda Patrick did an interview with Axel Montagne about blood-brain barrier repair in Episode 79 of Found My Fitness , posted April 27, 2023. I learned from a recent MRI that I have FLAIR hyperintensities that are probably caused by small vessel ischemic disease. In this episode, Montagne describes...

Re: Five days into taking 0.5 mg / kg methylene blue

I started taking methylene blue in mid-January 2023, and I took it daily for two months. I started the dose at 0.5mg/kg of bodyweight and adjust downward over a couple of weeks (based on the amount of blue in my urine after 24 hours) to a dose of 0.25mg/kg. After two months, I had a complete blood c...

Re: Alzheimer's Cured by Methylene Blue Celebration Thread!

I also hear someone say Gonzalez Lima recommends taking MB with ascorbic acid to improve absorption. Is there an optimum ratio of MB to ascorbic acid? What I would do is carefully titrate the ascorbic acid into the MB until it turns clear. Gonzalez Lima's point is it is better absorbed as leuco MB....

Re: Alzheimer's Cured by Methylene Blue Celebration Thread!

This is an Amazon search for USP MB. Note: I edited my original post below because I found a video from Jane Rogers that answered some of my questions. She also interviewed Francisco Gomez Lima, and he said you can take MB at the 0.5 mg/kg dose and wait until your urine turns clear before taking an...

Re: Sleep

Please give me all your suggestion to sleep little bit more without use tavor and so on Matthew Walker recommends Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Insomnia (CBTI) as the first line treatment for insomnia. There are in-person and online classes, as well as books, like “Goodnight Mind.” You might want ...

Re: DHA amounts

Rhonda Patrick recommends 2g DHA per day; however, she published a paper that shows APOE4 carriers need the ethyl ester form, not the triglyceride form most fish oil supplements use. Apparently, the triglyceride form does not cross the blood brain barrier well in APOE4 carriers. Here's a clip of her...

Re: Evidence mounts for alternate origins of Alzheimer’s disease plaques

Per the recommendation of an ENT, I’ve used Gaviscon Advance, from the UK, which is different than the Gaviscon we have in the US. Gaviscon Advance contains sodium alginate and potassium bicarbonate. When you drink it after eating it creates a raft at the GE junction that prevents reflux. It’s avai...

Re: Evidence mounts for alternate origins of Alzheimer’s disease plaques

I have silent reflux, and I have avoided PPIs because of the association with dementia risk. It appears H2 blockers (like Pepcid) and calcium carbonate products that reduce acid (like Tums) either increase dementia risk, cardiovascular disease risk, or both. Does anyone have strategies for protectin...

Re: Sleep

I have been wearing an Oura ring for several years, and I've read Matt Walker's book, listened to all the podcasts and done many things to improve the quality of my sleep. My average total sleep is fine, and I have no trouble falling asleep. In fact, the ring complains about my low latency scores, a...

Re: Harmane - A molecule you need to know

What! You don't know about Harmane? Well, neither did I until I started having essential tremors in my hand. It's a neurotoxin that affects the brain - especially memory consolidation. Thanks so much for posting this! I have some hand tremors that have become more pronounced as I have gotten older....
