Re: Welcome!!!

I just read (mostly) the primer. Excellent!! You do a great job steering between the potholes and canyons of different opinions. Well done. Now I have to go back to see what I read and check out some of the links, etc. My wife's well-along with AD, though still recognizes people, but is quite depend...

fairly new (caregiver)

Maybe I should have started here. I'm taking care of my 81 year old wife who has had AD for some time. Often wants to go "home," spends lot of time repeating lists of book titles (from books she read), or names from her phone book, or looking at pictures from our albums. I'm in process of ...

Re: sweeteners:

Thanks apod and SusanJ for the wonderful suggestions. I will look into these. I just bought some garbanzo bean flour (now realize probably can't use), some coconut flour and some almond flour.
This is a great place. Thanks to everyone.

The last time she had a doctor's appointment, she wouldn't go and she refused to get the last blood sample she was supposed to get. But I'll bring it up again. Would an ordinary bloo...

Re: Welcome!!!

My wife is 81, diagnosed with ALZ (MRI) while recovering from spinal surgery at a rehab hospital, 4 years ago. She uses a walker to get around and it's difficult for her to walk very far. She sleeps for most of the morning. She mostly toilets herself, but does need help. After reading Bredesen, I go...

obtaining saliva

Just finished Bredesen's book. Ordered DNA kits, but can't get my wife to spit. She was diagnosed with ALZ 4 years ago while recovering from spinal surgery at a rehab hospital. I bought vitamins and supplements. Today was 1st day that she actually had almost all of them. I'm surprised that she's tak...
