Re: Aluminum-free tinted lip balm?

MagicBean, Take a look at EWG's Skin Deep page. They may have options there? I believe companies write "may contain" when they use the facility for the production of other things, which do contain aluminum. So there may be traces in it, even if they know the tinted lip balm isn't made with...

[quote]Perhaps that pain is a signal that your stomach is acidic enough?/quote]

I wish, but I was taking 6 of them after a meal without feeling a stomach burn. Now I'm down to 4, so it's going in the right direction . . .

Re: How TMAO Fooled Us

Might be a different kind of betaine, HCI. Here's a study talking about the effect on stomach acidification. My understanding is that animal protein, especially, needs acid to be appropriately metabolized. Given that it's largely animal protein driving TMAO, I figure it might be helpful... along wi...

Re: How TMAO Fooled Us

For the betaine, I take it in the morning. Do you think that would help me digest protein all day, or does one need to take it with the protein? (If you know or have a thought.) Betaine with pepsin stays in your stomach for about an hour or so, I believe, and helps you digest the protein you just a...

Re: Choline Confusion

Hi MagicBean,

Did you see this NIH link I added on another thread? It weighs the contradictory research fairly, I think:

Re: Omega 3 and Sleep

Hi swampf0etus,

I take 3 Omega 3s, which amounts to 710 DHA and 405 EPA. Sometimes I take one in the morning or at lunch in addition to the ones in the evening. I usually have dinner around 7 pm and go to bed around 10 pm. Let me know if you notice a difference!

Re: Higher phosphatidylcholine protects against dementia

Ok. I've tried to read through your posts on this topic they make no sense to me. I'm not uneducated but I'm also not a scientist. Can you put this into plain English for the rest of us? Does current research indicate that we APOE 4/4s should be eating whole eggs daily? Yes or no. It's contested. :...

Omega 3 and Sleep

Here's a sleep hack that I hope works for others, too: For the past two weeks, I've been taking algae oil omega 3 supplements with my dinner and I've slept significantly better and longer. I'm now at the ideal 7-8 hours. I looked online and there does appear to be some suggestions that omega 3 in th...

I'm glad you mention the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine -- they are great and do address AD and diet a little bit. https://www.pcrm.org/health-topics/alzheimers A podcast from Sep 3, 2019: https://www.pcrm.org/news/exam-room-podcast/foods-boost-your-brain I'd also recommend Michael Gr...

Re: Resveratrol and Estrogen Therapy

Plumster - I used to take DIM but my FM doctor advised I stop it when my last labs came back for low estrogen in spite of my BHRT. She upped the concentration in my Rx from 50 mg to 75, and told me to stop the DIM because it may have been lowering my levels. I was also taking resveratrol at the tim...
