Re: Is anyone taking Metformin for longevity (or considering it)?
150 minutes/week? That's less than 30 minutes a day... I work out that much most days, although some is just fast walking on the treadmill. Sounded like a lot when I heard the number but then I multiplied 7 days by 30 minutes to get 210 & realized I coasted on this one :-) I think he was...

Re: Is anyone taking Metformin for longevity (or considering it)?
I appreciate the replies! I have listened to podcasts that are both for and against taking it. It was David Sinclair that had me thinking about it. Plus, I work in healthcare, and it seems like every other patient I see is taking metformin and has been for years, so it must be pretty safe. For now I...

Re: Is anyone taking Metformin for longevity (or considering it)?
I took Metformin briefly earlier this year. I'm a healthy older adult without metabolic disorder or diabetes. I discontinued use after a couple of months when Peter Attia shared research showing Metformin blunts the positive effects of exercise in healthy people. Interestingly, and possibly related...

Is anyone taking Metformin for longevity (or considering it)?
Trying to do everything I can to stay healthy and avoid the same fate as my parents. My dad died last year at 67 from Lewy Body Dementia and my mom has early Alzheimer's at age 68 (she's a 4/4). They both smoked and drank, didn't exercise much, and ate whatever they wanted. I'm almost 45 (I'm a 3/4)...

Re: E4s Have Earlier Menopause Onset?
My mother is 4/4 and had periods until she was 57. Definitely not early!

Re: Helping parents and other relatives
My mother (who is a 4/4) is showing signs of early Alzheimer's at age 67. She took care of both of her parents as they succumbed to Alzheimer's, and she has recently realized that she probably has it to. I lent her The End of Alzheimer's book, and I told her about the changes that I am making (diet ...

Re: Super Immunity in General?
That's funny...a few days ago I polled my four siblings (who are at least 3/4 like myself) to see if they feel like they get sick less than the average person. My mom is a 4/4 (age 67) and she never seems/seemed to get sick, and I never get the flu and rarely get colds. I thought maybe it was due to...

EveryWell Food Sensitivity test
I saw this on Facebook and wondered if anyone has tried this? After reading about gluten and lectin sensitivities and how they can be inflammatory, I am curious about this test. Would this help me to know whether we should avoid certain foods? I am eating much cleaner since reading "The End of ...

Re: New here--where do I start?
Thank you everyone! Love that there is drug in Phase 3 testing. That's terrific. NF52--I set up my parents' bills to be paid automatically a couple years ago, and just a couple weeks ago they put me on their checking account as a signer. So I am keeping up on that aspect of it and paying most of the...
