Re: Rep SO disappointed Cholesterol Numbers NO BETTER after 2.5 months of perfect diet

Hugs back to all of you. This is helpful. Didn't know about lithium and will look onto that. Guess it's safe to assume we don't know how it works with e4+.

Offhand is there a statin that is safe for e4 gene?

Re: PMs Getting Stuck in Out Folder

I was wondering the same thing and have been afraid to go offline thinking I might lose the message. Thanks for asking about this and for the clarification.

Re: Rep SO disappointed Cholesterol Numbers NO BETTER after 2.5 months of perfect diet

Thanks guys for your compassionate support. I do have sleep apnea and have been on a coal for 2 years. I had the data checked out a couple weeks ago and everything liked great with no apnea events. All of my live I have awakened in the wee hours of the morning with a start and perspiring. I feel my ...

Thanks Stavia. I really value your input. It's hard to know, in the whole scheme of things, whether a study holds its weight or not. I often feel like a pendulum swing too far one way, then too far the other way. Balance...that is my goal.

Re: Topical coconut oil / moisturizer

I haven't been able to build up a tolerance to even a small dose of MCT oil so yesterday I decided to switch back to full fat coconut milk in a 1ml dose, which for some reason I can tolerate. I also use coconut oil as a moisturizer. I wonder why I can tolerate coconut milk and not MCT? I'm going to ...

Re: Rep SO disappointed Cholesterol Numbers NO BETTER after 2.5 months of perfect diet

Lac wrote Rep, I don’t know if this is relevant in your case, but I was able to lower my LDL-P substantially (just got results back and it’s down from around 1300 to 1040, although other markers are still not good) by limiting swings in blood sugar. Prior to that I was keeping my blood glucose under...

ACE inhibitor use was associated with AD diagnosis only in the presence of an E4 allele.

"ACE inhibitor use was associated with AD diagnosis only in the presence of an E4 allele." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3873370/ Here I go again playing doctor ;) Arghhhh need to find a new BP medication for mild hypertension. Untreated BP is usually around 145-150/70-85.

Re: Increased Dementia in Underweight Individuals

[*This corroborates an underlying theme that Martha and I received at our recent conference: sarcopenia drives neurodegeneration. Agnes Flöel, who has done some CR research did not recommend caloric restriction for high risk populations (like ours) for that reason. FWIW, she recommended CR mimetics ...

Re: Insomnia - Really Need Help

Oh Lilly, I feel your pain and frustration! 2 things helped me. 1. Finding out that I have sleep apnea...doctors didn't want to test because I'm not overweight, but apnea has been connected to e-4 gene http://news.stanford.edu/news/2001/june13/apnea.html 2. I went off my anti-depressant (Prozac) but...
