Re: Science Daily Article - Mix of Elements Drives Dementia

Your question prompted me to consider why I thought this article was relevant to APOE4 carriers. It is apparent that "dementia" is what we all fear and what we are all desperately trying to prevent. It is my understanding that APOE4 is a risk factor for "Alzheimer's Disease" (whi...

But only in about half of those cases was it the main lesio...

Re: Low dose Naltrexone (?)

I have thought about taking LDN as a so called "tweak." I may be more "adventurous" than most people with regard to self-hacking. But, I have done a ton of research on LDN and it is really cutting edge stuff. I have been wanting to bring up the topic of LDN in the context of micr...

Re: Data dive unearths a treasure trove for E4s

I think the list of substances that up regulate NeuroD6 is interesting. Haloperidol - antipsychotic? and tretinoin - Retin A for wrinkles!? yay! I have never heard of most of those substances on the list.

Re: Data dive unearths a treasure trove for E4s

I will share because I need an interpretation. My results are from 23andMe and the letters are different. Would someone mind interpreting?

Re: Neither Exercise Nor Supplements Boost Cognition in Two Large Studies

It looks more and more like prevention is our best hope under the current state of medicine. It looks like after so much damage is done, it cannot be undone (yet).

Re: Question to those who've watched someone transition to MCI/AD

I have actually had the same question about the dividing line between MCI and Alz. I'm not sure there is a bright line. I began to notice short term memory problems in my Mom (3/4) about 10 years ago (she was 66). She has progressed slowly. Now at 76, her short term memory is pretty much non-existen...

Re: Matcha Tea and Lead

Is tea from Japan really suspect? I guess I didn't realize that there was a problem- you don't hear much about the nuclear disaster these days. I have been buying DoMatcha brand for a while. I don't know if I trust anything at all coming out of China.
