Re: Non-Bluetooth Sleep Trackers

I've used the Dreem2 for over 300 hours along with the Oura ring that I've had for about 2 years. There's no doubt that the Dreem2 is more accurate as it measures your brain waves. Here's a good YouTube video documenting that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIokaYy5dXk The 2 trackers are pretty ali...

Re: Dreem 2 Sleep Tracker

Hi Rainbowfish ... yes I’ve used it as well as the Oura ring. I used it for about 4 weeks in conjunction with the ring. It seemed to me to be more accurate than the ring with respect to sleep onset timing as well as the sleep stages. They were pretty congruent with time in bed, awakenings and heart ...

Re: Another negative lipid profile trend

Have you been screened to determine whether you're a hyperabsorber of sterols, including plant sterols? No I haven't. However my understanding is that E4s tend to be hyperabsorbers and accordingly Ezetimibe has been recommended to offset it. The lipidologist Tom Dayspring MD is an example of one wh...

Re: Another negative lipid profile trend

Thanks Carrie. The Oura ring provides motivation to take steps to improve my sleep quality. Although it may not be as accurate as a sleep lab in monitoring the stages of sleep, its pretty accurate in recording the timing and duration of sleep as well when I wake up at night and for how long. It also...

Ketogenic diet rescues cognition in ApoE4+ patient with mild Alzheimer's disease

Interesting recent case study with the conclusion: "The results of this case study are particularly compelling for ApoE4 positive (ApoE4+) subjects as ketogenic protocols extend hope and promise for AD prevention."

Re: Peter Attia podcast - Advancing Alzheimers disease treatment

Very interesting podcast. G-L's view is that AD is primarily a metabolic disorder of the brain. An energy deficit involving the mitochondria caused by insufficient blood flow resulting in cell death. Amyloid beta plaques are by-products of this process and are not causative, which is why all the dru...

Diet Doctor podcast with Dr. Ronald Krauss

Interesting podcast with Low Carb Cardiologist Bret Scher interviewing Dr. Ronald Krauss. They talk about the importance of LDL particle count, use of statins, Dave Feldman's lean mass hyper-responders, relative risk vs. absolute risk, Lp(a), HDLc and much more. Well worth a listen. https://www.yout...
