Thank you both for your perspectives. It's interesting and helpful to hear how different people think about it.

Did you tell your family?

I am a 3/4 and have had two tests to confirm it, and my father just got results that he is 3/3, which means I had to have gotten the 4 allele from my mother. (They aren't together anymore.) My mother has said in the past that she wouldn't want to know if she had it (although at the time, she didn't ...

Re: Has anyone else gotten the new Abeta 42/40 test?

Another interesting update: My father took the Quest test, and it said his result was "intermediate." He then went through the initial testing for the AHEAD trial, and they said his blood amyloid levels were low, and he didn't qualify for the trial — solidifying my belief that the Quest te...

And how odd that the article was behind a paywall. I was able to get to it earlier today, but now I'm hitting the paywall too. Here's an archived copy: https://archive.ph/D5EOJ. It was much more detailed that the Medpage Today article.

Re: Has anyone else gotten the new Abeta 42/40 test?

Thank you for the additional information and encouragement, NF52!

I had already connected with the Alzheimer's Prevention Registry people (strangely, they don't seem to be in any hurry and said they'd call me to talk about the trial in a few weeks), but I will definitely check out the APT study too.

Re: Has anyone else gotten the new Abeta 42/40 test?

Thank you for the detailed and interesting response, @NF52! I have an update. I started screening for the AHEAD trial, and failed out at the very first step. They said my Preclivity test (which tests for beta-amyloid in the blood and tau) showed little to no amyloid in my blood. This is in direct co...

Re: Eating well- frying/roasting veg - is it that bad?

Thanks for the tip about the ice packs! I like the Palmini noodles too. In fact, I ordered some for the days in between orders when I cook for myself. It was a wonderful new food discovery. (I also often use shirataki noodles and zucchini noodles.) I try to get at least half of my meals with salmon ...

Re: Eating well- frying/roasting veg - is it that bad?

Thank you, Julie! That's great news about the cooking methods. Those are my two favorite meals too! I just had the salmon masala for lunch. It's hard to come up with ways I could be happier with the offering. The food is delicious, and the customer service has been excellent. These are the only thin...

Re: Eating well- frying/roasting veg - is it that bad?

Julie, do you happen to know how they cook the vegetables in the Ketoflex meal plans from Nutrition for Longevity? Are they lightly steamed or sautéed? I've been getting the meals since the plan launched and am ridiculously happy with them. They're delicious and make it vastly easier for me to follo...
