Re: cash-based healthcare, I've found that you can often get the same service (e.g. same MRI at a facility read by the same doctor) for a much lower price if you offer to pay cash up front. You just have to ask before presenting your insurance car...

I think it's important to have some cheat days / times built in. I've found that total deprivation of things that I enjoy builds up over time and eventually leads to a binge session which will undermine all of the strides I've made. Think it's human nature and good to "refresh" with a smal...

I enjoyed Not Fade Away. It's a story about a successful, dying man and tugs at the heart in his description of how health and life puts money and accomplishment in perspective.

A good way to get quality care is to pay cash. Not every doctor will take it but it creates a different relationship when you find one who does. It feels like the way of the future and, in my experience, it has been cheaper than using my insurance every time.

We've had amazing experiences with the instant pot. Our ceramic crock pot cracked and we ended up getting one and replacing our slow cooker with it. We've made soups and frequently use it for rice for sushi or rice bowls.

Bulletproof coffee is great, especially if you are going for a keto-style diet. I find that I have more energy and feel sharper throughout the day. Mixing in a good MCT oil will boost the effect but you might have to try different brands to see which one works best for you. I never got into the ghee...
