Re: Ready to Quit

Your post really resonated with me- enough to actually say something, which I do rarely! I felt exactly like you describe when I found out my APOE status ( with strong family history as well!) Hopeless and helpless and to read all these posts from all these very intelligent and proactive folks made ...

Re: Periodontis bacteria linked to Alzheimer’s disease

A good idea to brush, floss diligently and have your teeth cleaned regularly... prevention might be one of the keys!

Re: New Member - APOE 2/4

I am also APOE4/2, 64 years old, and since we are somewhat rare, there appears to be little specific information that applies just to us. I am following low carb diet- doing the best I can, taking some supplements. I have no cognitive issues, but my family history is very strong for AD. I am not sur...

Re: apoe4 linked to eye disease?

I am APOE4/2, 64 year old female. I have very strong maternal family history of AD and not one of those ladies had macular degeneration even into their 80s. I have major genes, homozygous, for both wet and dry macular degeneration. When I open Promethease, macular degeneration pops up first and seco...

That being said removal of the mercury/silver fillings, is much more likely to cause any mercury related ...

Re: I've had a reversal of cognitive decline...and want to share what I've learned...

This is one great story and an inspiration to those of us that are still so confused about what we should be doing and why. I too am going to kick my own ass and do better as a result of your experiences!

Re: APOE mismatch Ancestry vs 23andMe

I have been confused as well. 23 and me called one APOE4 allelle, Promethease said E4/E2 or E3/1 and Ancestry said no APOE4. I figure I am really APOE4/2 because E1 is rare and it makes sense with my family history to be E4, but I haven't gotten it verified. I am just trying to live well and deal wi...
