Re: Quick question how to lower Homocysteine

There is lack of consensus about the definition of B12 deficiency. Some define deficiency as serum Vitamin B12 levels less than 135-203 pg/mL (100–150 ρmol/L) while others use a Vitamin B12 less than 338 pg/mL (250 pmol/L). Check your levels of HC and Vit B12. If your HC levels are greater than 6umo...

Re: Ashwagandha, Curcumin and Other Amyloid Interfering Supplements

Unlike Ginger root, Turmeric root is generally smaller, finger or thumb size (3-5 inches long) and has far less branches. I take about 5 thumb size roots and chop them into small pieces for consumption.

Re: Is skipping breakfast bad for you?

I don't do anything extraordinary with my diet. I try to have a balanced CHO+protein+fat diet. Lots of veggies and greens. Ghee, Olive oil and coconut oil are the sources of my fat. Snacks include walnuts, almonds and dates. I stay away from processed, highly refined, canned foods. I have also minim...

LifeStyle Practices

Two Lifestyle practices that I would strongly advocate (I have been doing this mindfully for almost 3 months now). 1) CHEWING: I always like to say that there is a reason why we have teeth in the mouth and not in the gut. Check PubMED for articles related to Chewing and Cognition. You will find a bu...

Re: Researchers Reverse Alzheimer's in Mouse Models

Flies, worms, rodents do not develop AD. We force it upon them by over expressing the human genes several fold. Later we try to reverse any symptoms by using drugs. No wonder, these drugs finally fail in the clinical trials. The entire AD community was keenly following the first BSM (beta secretase ...

Re: Clinical Trials

Hi. I am new to this site and like many of you I have the 2 markers for the ApoE4 gene. I am only 56 and would like to help any research happening for AD. I called the Alz Assoc only to find out that most, if not all the studies involve people already suffering from the disease or they have told me...

Re: Is skipping breakfast bad for you?

It is all individual based. For people who are prediabetic, skipping breakfast is not a good idea. See how you personally feel not having a breakfast. Have a baseline value for all of your major metabolic parameters. Do the fasting/skipping breakfast for 3 months. Get tested again after 3 months. Co...

Re: Ashwagandha, Curcumin and Other Amyloid Interfering Supplements

As a therapeutic Theracurmin is good. If it is for prevention, I suggest you use Turmeric root. Peel the top layer, chop into small pieces and add it to your pizza, salad, soup etc. I use nearly 4-5 small finger size turmeric root as part of my daily meal. Nearly all of the grocery stores at least i...
