Re: fasting glucose and a1c

I have a lot going on and don't know what is simply ok but not perfect and what is potentially serious. Allergies can mess you up - my wife has them to various foods, and it seems to change based on what she eats... A couple of things that she has found that helps is homemade kefir. She also finds ...

Re: fasting glucose and a1c

I can bring the latte spike down if I drink full-fat milk, but the saturated fat is a concern. She is testing for a bunch of stuff, and one of the 6 diagnosis codes is hyperlipidemia. I have not had any symptoms of muscle breakdown. I am lifting weights as well as before. Keep mindful of any extra ...

Re: fasting glucose and a1c

So...she prescribed 500 mg of instant release metformin, up to 2 pills 2 x per day. I took one this morning. My post latte BG was 116, not 150 - 180. I am working hard today, very intense, and my pre-lunch BG was 81! Not 105 - 115. Are you still doing well on the Metformin? It is a pretty standard ...

Re: New here one copy apoe4 and strong family history - some questions pls

I have annual medical and have always been confounded firstly by body composition which despite having a bmi of 21 is 38%, my total cholesterol - UK readings is 6 with a bad mix of LDL and HDL and in addition I am showing signs of having a fatty liver (for the first time this year) - my cholesterol...

Re: Very unexpected diagnose...

Yes, I have Apoe4 unfortunately... Another 4/4 like me. Just wanted to make sure. As mentioned earlier, this site has lots of info to learn more about AD and its prevention. Increasing exercise seems to be critical as does getting rid of foods with added sugar / fructose. There are very promising t...

Re: Very unexpected diagnose...

I am 36 years old woman. Don't have history of AD in my family (although most of my family died of cancer). I did genetic test out of curiosity and imagine my surprise when I found out that I am carrier of 2 copies of Apoe gene! Everyone has 2 copies of ApoE gene. Do you know what variants you have...

Re: fasting glucose and a1c

I just received results.... A1c has not budged. I am still at 5.5. Fasting glucose decreased from 101 to 97, not exceptional. Fasting insulin is at 2.4. This is my first time testing insulin. Is lower better, or is there a point that it is too low? You might want to do a Glucose-Insulin tolerance t...

Re: Lab results. Too good to be true?

How the hell my Hb1Ac level can be that bad if my fasting glucose is 4.4 in the morning, and I'm fasting all day long. So my 4.4 shouldn't "go" anywhere during the day :D A couple of issues - Why so much fructose? It is not very good for you... https://peterattiamd.com/rickjohnson2/ Also,...

Re: 55 years old Asian lady with subject cognitive decline

I wonder how KetoFLEX12/3 affect blood cholesterol level? Will this high fat diet increase blood cholesterol level? It depends on who you ask. Most Cardiologists will say to lower ingested fats to lower cholesterol. Many folks here will tell you that ingested fat does not affect blood cholesterol l...

Re: 55 years old Asian lady with subject cognitive decline

My questions are mainly about ketoflex12/3 and leakygut repair. It is generally thought to be good to be on a Keto diet, but this is just one part of a strategy. Does your mom have diabetes? Has she ever had her blood sugar measured? It is always good to get rid of sugars from your diet, but she ma...
