Re: Unexpectedly found out I am a double APOE4

Hi Kate, another Kate here 😊, and also 4/4. I found out my status too when I was trying to find out if I had a brca mutation. I realised I’d been falsely reassured when I read the small print of the 23andme brca testing, so I paid for testing privately for full brca testing in a clinical genetics la...

Re: BRCA

Thanks NF52 and Michael. I did come across the FORCE website when I was reading around..I’ll have a closer look thank you. Glad to hear you’ve had no problems NF52. Luckily I only have a son but I know he will need his prostate monitoring too if he does have the mutation. I’m hoping things might hav...

BRCA

Hi all..I haven’t been around for some time. How is everyone..Stavia, Julie, Starfish..you all helped me so much at the start. I pop up every now and again. I’m 4/4. I did 23andme to find out about the BRCA mutations as my mom died of ovarian cancer at 46 (I’m 40 in 3 weeks). I hadn’t realised at th...

Re: Anxiety

Thank you Julie. I've had a look at that. It's quite common isn't it to be TT so hopefully lots of people have been on this medication with the same genes so I'm hoping it can't be that bad! I've picked them up today, just got to pluck up the courage to take one now. Thank you again x

Re: Anxiety

Hello again! I hope everyone is doing well. I haven't been feeling much better. My Dr has prescribed Sertraline but (typical of the fact I'm suffering from anxiety) I'm scared to take it! I read it shouldn't be used with MAO inhibitors, then I remembered I'm MAO-A ++. Does anyone know if this would ...

Re: Anxiety

Thank you so much for taking the time to send me advice and support. I'm off to do my headspace now :). I'm not much better but just need to remember this is probably one of the worst times of my life and hopefully these feelings will pass. X

Re: Anxiety

Thank you all so much, you're so nice to support me, you've made me cry! I'll definitely look at square breathing and ashwaghanda. Thank you starfish for your story, it's reassuring that if I can get through this I can get through anything. Thank you all for being so kind. I might even get back to m...

Anxiety

Hi all, I haven't been on for a long time. Hope everyone is well, I'm so grateful for all the support I had when I first got my results. I've been having quite a rough time. My husband left out of the blue (to me) and I've been looking after my son, sorting out divorce etc. I felt like my world had ...
