Re: 4/4 & Kind of Freaking Out

Thank you so much, Susan! This is such useful information. I'll order the book today! Also heading out to Whole Foods today, so will look for the Bifidobacterium. I've had gut issues off and on throughout my life, so I've done a lot of work in that area already, including giving up gluten and proces...

Re: 4/4 & Kind of Freaking Out

Thank you for the suggestion, SusanJ. I had a really bad day yesterday with allergies. I'm in Southern California and the pollen count is the worst it has been in 10 years. Despite all that I am doing to calm down the histamine levels in my body, I finally had to give in and take a strong antihistam...

Re: Age 36 and terrified of being 4x4

Hey Priya, I was meaning to comment on your thread earlier, but I've also been in a dark mood since finding out about my APOE4 status. And I too wondered if I would have been better off not knowing. Re: "Alcohol is biggest lifestyle risk"

Long-time winelover here. But after finding out my APOE4 status a couple of days ago, I'm done. I love wine, but I love my brain more. Sitting here drinking a glass of pomegranate juice in a wine glass right now. It's nice, and I understand that pomegranate juice may help stave off AD. Cheers!

Re: 4/4 & Kind of Freaking Out

Wow, you guys! Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome and for providing all of this great information. I'm still trying to figure out my MTHFR status. The report definitely says there is a mutation, but couldn't quite figure out the science. I'll go back and check it again, but I suspect th...

4/4 & Kind of Freaking Out

Hi everyone, Ran the raw results from my Ancestry.com test through Promethease yesterday and got the dreaded Apoe4/4. I'm 55 years old, female, entering menopause and have been on bio-identical hormones for 5 years. I think my diet has always been somewhat clean--I don't eat junk food, eat lots of o...
