Re: "Bulletproof" Coffee

My second day of drinking bulletproof coffee, I found the energy I've been missing for the past..oh, 20 years or so. It's been about a month, and I've continued to have normal energy levels on most days, after twenty years of disabling fatigue. My son points out that the tablespoon of MCT oil in the...

Re: sibling has 1 APOE4. Need I get tested too?

I'm afraid you're right about gluten free bread. I'm a baker, and my mother was a professional chef. We thought with our experience we could come up with a goodt GF bread. Well, we never did, and it wasn't for lack of trying. Wheat gluten has the unique ability to stretch around the gases produced b...

Surprising first labs

I've had lifelong blood sugar issues, starting in childhood when I spent my lunch money daily on seven candy bars. In adulthood if I went too long without eating I got dizzy/weak/confused, and once it got to that point even eating wouldn't fix it. So while I waited for my first appt w/my Bredesen-tr...

Re: PEMT RS7946(T,T) Fast Results After Phosphatidylcholine Supplemention

Wonderful that you found that piece of your puzzle, Roamingseer. My results were similarly dramatic when I started phosphatidylcholine, at least five years ago now. I'm only heterozygous on RS7946, but was a vegetarian with an egg allergy so wasn't getting any choline at all from diet. My sister, al...

A Google search turned up nobunplease.com, which deals specifically with how to eat low-carb in McDonald's, Wendy's and such.

Re: Should I get genetic counseling before testing for the gene?

I have no experience with counseling, but my first thought is the counselor would be required to give you the party line--there's no cure, there's no treatment that works, yadda yadda. The fact that you're here makes me think maybe you're looking for something other than the party line.

Re: Good food/exercise/sleep log?

I'll be interested in the replies to this one... One things that seems to be popular here in cronometer (phone app) to track food. You can tell it what percentages of carbs/protein/fat you want to eat and it will track them for you. Seems to have a large database of foods. Would be nice if it also t...

Re: Introduction: mine, but probably a lot like yours too

I quite agree with you that with complex and chronic illness, you have to be the driver in your own health care. It's very helpful to be interested in what's under the hood, and thank God for PubMed! Did you get your ApoE results from 23and me? If so, you might want to also look at your methylation ...

Re: Trying the protocol in advanced alzheimers

I would like suggestions on masking the flavor of all the supplements in the shake or other advice about getting supplements in. She has difficulty eating/chewing/swallowing so the shake is really the only way to do it. Chrystina Many supplements are available in transdermal creams or patches. Mayb...
