Re: Using RAPA for AD prevention
yes, I was a patient of Dr. Smith for a while, but wasn't using his services so put my patient status on "pause". Thanks so much, Karina! That is so kind of you! I have been overwhelmed by all of the information and it will be so helpful to get insight from a person who has experience. I ...

Re: Using RAPA for AD prevention
Randy Smith's concierge service (last year prices) was $199/month for access to him as needed (all virtual). Then he charges $395 a quarter for the lab work. He sends the phlebotomist to your house and draws blood (and gets urine sample) at your home. I live up in Roswell, and while I am not current...

Re: Using RAPA for AD prevention
Hi Kathleen, The doctor I get my rapamycin prescription from is Dr. Alan Green out of New York. Flew up there for the first visit. Since then it's all virtual visits. There is a concierge doctor, Randy Smith, right here in Atlanta who is a 4/4. He prescribes it as well but I'm not sure if he orders ...

APOE4/4 gene trial
this is a message I received from Lexeo Therapeutics, who are running a HUMAN clinical trial replacing APOE4 with APOE2. "Are you (or someone you love) 50 years of age or older, experiencing memory loss due to Alzheimer’s disease, and have 2 copies of the APOE4 gene? You may qualify for a clini...

Re: Rapamycin prevents age-related brain vascular deterioration in rats
I continue to take rapamycin (Sirolimus). Dr. Green has increased my dose to 8mg a week, although I often still take just 6mg. It's been 14 months now. With anything putting me at risk of infection from its impact on the innate immune system (such as my recent cataract surgery), I temporarily stop i...

Re: Gene Therapy Trial for ApoE4 Homozygotes
Read a New York Times article yesterday about APOE2 gene therapy for 4/4 homozygotes. Since I am one of the admins of the APOE4/4 group on Facebook, I emailed one of the doctors (Dr. Samuel Gandy) last night and he responded this morning, introducing me to the research team at Weill Cornell. Dr. Mic...
