Re: APOE4/4 makes it to age 86!

As I read, understand about aphasia and dysarthria, these are "two distinct communication disorders that affect speech and language in different ways. Dysarthria is a motor speech disorder that affects the muscles used for speech, while aphasia is a language disorder that affects the ability t...

Re: APOE4/4 makes it to age 86!

Her cognition is intact, yes. That's the most amazing part. She can still answer direct Yes/No questions with full comprehension even if her speech is severely impaired, limited. That's not supposed to happen for APOE4/4 people at age 86, they are supposed to be “gone” by now. Tell us more about th...

Re: APOE4/4 makes it to age 86!

Thank you for sharing, AnnieV! Congrats to you and your mom on the dedication. I assume that her cognition is still strong? That's amazing. I'm sure many would like to hear the details of her routine.

Re: Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector

Hi Julie. What were the results from the last ALZ-801 update? Definitely good, but not earth shattering. I'd be onboard if it didn't make me sick. You can read in this thread. I also wonder about the integrity of ingredients in the Smart Homataurine. I wish there was some independent validation. A ...

Re: Homotaurine (tramiprosate) appears to be a structure corrector

Thanks for this thread. I started homotaurine 2 days ago, 100mg once daily. The first dose went fine but the second made me vomit. Hoping this gets better with time or maybe with a decrease in dose and/or giving with food? Big hugs to you. I had the EXACT same experience- bleh. When I vomited, I ha...

Re: The new P-tau 217 test is almost here

This is an explanation of why the AlzPath p-tau 217 test is not just a test for tau. Yes! As I mentioned, it’s well known that amyloid precede tau. Your graph beautifully illustrates this. But it may still be that it would be difficult to detect in people below age 50, even with ApoE 4/4. Agree, we...

Re: The new P-tau 217 test is almost here

Julie, just to clarify for our members, the Neurocode test is not the same test used in PrecivityAD™ or the newer PrecivityAD2™, which appears to be closest to the Neurocode Absolutely- two completely different tests. The only reason that I mentioned it is because it's the only commercially availab...

The new P-tau 217 test is almost here

We've had quite a bit of chatter on the site lately about the new blood tests for AD pathology. The new p-Tau 217 test (used in PrecivityAD2, $1,250) appears to have the strongest correlation with a PET scan and/or CSF biomarkers of AD pathology. Dr. Bredesen will be offering this direct-to-consumer...

Re: ACE trial: Arterial Stiffness, Cognition and Equol

In this YouTube, the guy describes how to build a very low cost, DIY EWOT system. He mentions the adaptive contrast LiveO2 system and his DIY version is to just hold his breath for a bit while doing the exercise. Cool! Are you going to build your own? We're enjoying ours. I haven't experimented wit...

Re: Soft Launch of Our Metabolomic Project

Unfortunately, participation is closed for the ProdromeScan trial. One quick clarification. When Emily stated the above, she was referring to our request for a few volunteers to help us kick-off the project by participating in an experiment that we could use (with pre and post results) to help us l...
