Re: Caution for 4/4 men: CAA

Interesting...can't remember where I read it very recently (somewhere on this site?) but I think it was lipidologist Dr Dayspring who quoted some studies saying DHA had no effect on blood clotting (for the worse). That paper from 2017 by Yassine is somewhat superseded by his Attia interview in whic...

Re: Neuroprotective Herbs for the Management of Alzheimer’s Disease

Very kind of you to share, Theresa. Our friend, Dr. Ram Rao, did most of the heavy lifting but was very generous to include me in the review and revision process. He also duplicated some of our work from the book. It was fascinating to see the peer review process from the inside. Having other resear...

Re: Losing Weight

This also means you don't want to overdo fat consumption - otherwise your body will use that for fuel instead of your own fat. See here. Sometimes longer fasts, say 42 hours can give you a boost in lowering insulin, if you are insulin resistant. Eating sufficient protein when you do eat will keep y...

Re: Losing Weight

Hi jan18! Because you are over 65, you probably want to target higher amounts of protein— 1.1 to 1.2g/kg LBM. It's fine to create your macronutrient ratios based upon your current weight, but then on Cronometer in Settings, find Targets and plug in your Current Weight along with your Goal Weight and...

Re: Caution for 4/4 men: CAA

I've an appointment to meet a CAA doctor later this week. Have there been any recent updates? You might feel better just ruling this out. From the End of Alzheimer's Program: "If this condition is suspected, then an MRI with a microhemorrhage sequence (MP-RAGE) is important to determine whethe...

Re: Does Julie Reynolds still take these 4 supps at bedtime??

I also take 6mg LDN for slight Hashi's. But again, I don't have trouble falling asleep and staying asleep even without those....until the 5 to 5 1/2 hour mark. BAM. I wake up, still feel tired, and it takes awhile to fall back asleep. Bless you, doodles. I suspect that LDN may be your culprit. What...

Re: Anyone here using Kaiser for RECODE?

With ReCODE you are paying the company for both the lab work and the interpretation of those labs using their proprietary algorithm. It's not quite as clear cut as that. The participant has the option of using Premier Laboratories with whom Apollo Health has negotiated a discounted bundle price (no...

Re: Possible incomplete diagnosis

Bruce, I'm sure that's both hurtful and confusing. Your post reminded me of behavior that my grandmother displayed several years before she passed away at almost 101 years old. She never had an official diagnosis, other than "Alzheimer's," but before we put her in a memory care facility, s...

Re: Does Julie Reynolds still take these 4 supps at bedtime??

I am listening to this 2017 interview. She said she takes these four at bedtime: Progesterone, melatonin, ashwagandha, Bacopa monnieri. Does she still take those? Anything else? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s2h3p4URiw0 Hi doodles! Thanks for reaching out. I still take progesterone (alternate nig...

Re: Thoughts/reactions to the J&J covid vaccine?

My son had COVID back in March of 2020 and just received the J&J vaccine. He had minimal side effects; slight arm soreness, a bit of fatigue, some aches and pains. It didn't seem to slow him down as he went mountain biking the next day. FWIW, I never had COVID and felt pretty badly after the 1st...
