Re: NAD/niacinamide

I just started taking Berberine this week (400 mg TID, because its half-life is only 4 hrs). It sounds great because of its anti-diabetes (like metformin), anti-lipids (like statin), anti-obesity, anti-PCOS activities. But I also read that berberine, like many supplements should be used in this way—...

Re: Elevated blood sugar on krill oil

Does anyone experience elevated blood sugar while using fish or krill oil? Does anyone know what this means when it happens? Maybe just that the dose is too big, or maybe there is another issue going on? I did a quick search on PubMed and found that krill oil (at doses up to 4 g/day) was effective ...

Re: doing low lectin/low AGE/ and 16:8 and keto ?? adivce??

Hi T: Congratulations! It sounds like you're doing all the right things given your excellent results! That's wonderful. As a fellow 4/4 with blood sugar issues (type 2 diabetes that I reversed with time-restricted feeding (OMAD), low carb healthy fat diet and exercise, no meds), I found Dr. Steven G...

Re: Self lab test ordering online - US. Discount

Thanks, Tincup. Which test panels does Dr. Gundry like (from which labs)? I had a hard time convincing my doctor to order an Insulin test, even after diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes!? Clearly, some of us need do this on our own and out of pocket, which sucks.

Re: Inconsistent Keto-Mojo Results-Discouraged!

...sleep is the repair time and you are truly fasted during sleep... Exactly. The problem with Dr. Bredesen's Ketoflex 12/3 program is that if you're eating late (e.g. 6 pm), you'll be digesting and absorbing food for the next 3-5 hrs. Dr. Naiman said it typically takes 12 hrs after your last meal ...

Re: Inconsistent Keto-Mojo Results-Discouraged!

Here is the BEST explanation for the rationale for Time Restricted Feeding written by Dr. Ted Naiman (http://www.DietDoctor.com): Time-restricted eating - Diet Doctor https://www.dietdoctor.com/intermittent-fasting/time-restricted-eating The graph below tells us the whole story -- comparing the insu...

Re: Inconsistent Keto-Mojo Results-Discouraged!

With OMAD, the trick is to prepare your meals with liberal amounts of healthy fats (e.g. olive oil, avocado oil, avocados, nuts, etc., NOT saturated fats or MCT or coconut oil, if you're a 4/4). You can add fat calories very easily that way (following Dr. Gundry's "The Plant Paradox" style...

Re: Inconsistent Keto-Mojo Results-Discouraged!

You could always do OMAD = One Meal A Day, which will keep you in nutritional ketosis all the while you're not eating. Your eating window could be 1-2 hrs to get enough calories for the rest of the day. It's like a Feast-Fast schedule that is easy to follow once you're keto adapted.

Re: New Study: Prevalence of Optimal Metabolic Health in American Adults

Same here. I'm a 4/4 and had the worst TG/HDL ratio of 7.18, when I was on a statin (Ezetimibe/Simvastatin or Vytorin 10/20) back in 2005, although the LDL and TC looked perfectly "normal" to my cardiologist (TG 244, LDL 38, HDL 34, TC 121). Now we know from Bredesen's book that when total...
