Re: Wine and Cheese Might Actually Help You Avoid Dementia

I just stumbled across this notion in yahoo news as I was scrolling to read about the latest with the Covid situation. It surprised me, because I have heard Gundry say to stay away from E4's favorite food, cheese. So I looked in this forum and see it has already been spoken for. When I think of wine...

Re: Does having APOE4 protect you from getting the Coronavirus? .... Maybe

Concept I want to share with the group. It seems that there is a genetic component to the CoronaVirus. Although it is too early to tell but people who catch the virus outside of China seem to be able to survive at a much higher rate. Better medical care might be one reason, but genetics might be an...

Re: study: Tb vaccine lowers AD risk.

This TB vaccine notion causes me to think about my ApoE 4/4 father's utterly complete rapid obvious cognitive decline once he had pneumonia. I wonder if vaccinations for pneumonia would be wise for a precaution for 4s. No one really knew he had AD until after the pneumonia. It is difficult to determ...

Re: "Laird Superfood" ?

The bag of " Laird Superfood" remains just sitting there, as I am not consuming it after posting this. My IF has increased to 16-18 hours. I find that black coffee is enough. I almost drank some tea that was " chocolate mint " flavored, but decided against it. Maybe it wouldn't h...

Re: E4 and AMD

The study that plans to replace a 4 with a 2 doesn't want to replace both 4s of the participants because of any potential benefits of the 4. So, I stumbled upon one that directly applies to me! If you scroll down to the portion that speaks to ApoE, it mentions that most studies show a protective fac...

E4 and AMD

I also have 3 variants for AMD, as per 23andme. I found this online, which looks like E4s have at least this going for us... seems to indicate it is protective :D for AMD?

Re: New Study Indicates Genes Don't Always Dictate Alzheimer's

This is an interesting study of identical triplets and suggests developing Alzheimer's is not exclusively linked to our genes. https://www.beingpatient.com/alzheimers-genes-identical-triplets/ This would indicate that all of our effort is worthwhile. :) The article mentions the gene that is thought...

Re: Gundry internet ads

Has anyone seen this ad for Gundry's own olive oil from Morocco? https://enrichyourfood.com/190828A.php?n=tba It has all the earmarks of high pressure salesmanship and I'm so disappointed. Buy it now before it sells out, we make it in limited quantities only, if you get it now, you'll get this grea...

Re: Mitochondrial Dysfunction in E4 carriers

Hi Nikki, No one in my family wants to talk about Alzheimer’s prevention, not even my two cousins who recently lost their mother to Alzheimer’s and who also lost their father to the same disease. I don’t get it, but I stay off my soapbox. Hi TheBrain, I can relate!!! How many times have I stopped m...

Re: New with an advanced stage alzheimer father and struggling mother

Dear All, Firstly, i sincerely thank the kind and compassionate people in this group. I am afraid i am just here to take help and have very little to offer. My father is nearly 70 years old who has advanced alzheimer. My mother is struggling with her EBT and financial aid to take care of my father ...
