Re: Has anyone done the one time RECODE report simple for prevention?

I just did my recode report too. Same info provided as Alison listed above. I found a spreadsheet in the apoe4 wiki that allows you to track. I'm curious though about the MMP9. Not seeing that in the spreadsheet and don't know what the appropriate reference range is. Along with being APOE3/4 I'm hav...

Thanks for all your responses. I totally feel the love and support. I also loved slacker's comment about having a new family here. :) So many emotions around Alzheimer's. My mom continues to decline too, Torimintz. She was asking yesterday to go stay with her grandparents for a few days. :(

Brother and sister neg for apoe4 - feeling oddly alone now...

I don’t want them to be positive... truly I don’t. My gut is pathetically wondering why I swam in the shallow end of the gene pool. I’m hopeful you all can understand my strange mixed emotions right now.

Re: How long after eating before authophagy starts?

So autography is when ratios are below 1:1? I can do that in about 20 hours of fasting. Yesterday I did a 24 hour fast and at the end I had glucose of 65 and ketones of 5.4 with a ratio of 0.7. Only once over the past month were my ketones below 3.0 with an average ratio of about 1.3. Should I be gr...

Re: Lab testing: prioritization, costs

I'm curious on this too. What lab tests did you decide are required and which optional? I listened to the End of Alzheimer's book on audible so I don't have ready access to the lists. Downside of listening I guess...

Re: APOE3/4, mom has AD and so did her dad

Carrie, thanks for your response. I'm leaning toward doing the ReCODE prevention protocol. To put it into a cost perspective, the annual fee of participating ($900) in prevention would be spent in about 5 days living at a memory care facility. I'll poke around into the link you shared and look for o...

Re: New Member

Hi! I'm new too. I'm also 47 APOE3/4 my mom has AD. If curious in officially knowing the status of your other allele you can use promethease.com to upload your raw data from 23 and me. For $12 they will give you both allele's and tons of other genetic information.

APOE3/4, mom has AD and so did her dad

Hi! I'm 47, APOE3/4 with no cognitive issues currently (at least that I can recall). My mom is 83, has AD and is in an amazing memory care unit near my home. Her father passed away from AD at 67. My dad from brain cancer at 47. So, there are cognitive issues that I'm hoping to manage. Ten months ago...
