AD genes beside APOE

Dr. Bredesen mentions briefly that a number of other gene/variations beside APOE are thought to play some lesser risk factor role for AD. I've never seen any mention of these outside of Dr. B's The End of Alzheimer's. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Keto and thyroid problems

I was recently counseled that my fairly strict ketogenic diet might not be compatible with having hypothyroidism. This is extremely disappointing because I've become so committed to the keto diet as a major plank in my ReCODE protocol platform. How have others dealt with this problem?

Re: CRP 10.2 mg/L how do I reduce this?

It is possible that your high CRP result was the result of some transitory infection and your CRP will come down very quickly on its own. I was startled to see my CRP of 15.5 and tested again two weeks later and it had gone down to 0.87. On the other hand if the cause of your high CRP is some chroni...

Re: Broken Brain 2

Thank you for your heads up post. I could listen to relevant podcasts all day and learn or almost learn something from each one of them. Acting on what I have learned is then another thing that takes a great deal of time. The FM approach (which I wholeheartedly embrace) is nothing if it's not time c...

Re: Looking for some MTHFR help

If you haven't checked out the wiki methylation chapter, that would be a good place to start. It's linked 3 posts above yours in this thread. The wiki chapter is full of science, references, and how to. It also links to Chris Masterjohn's work. This could be your virtual MTHFR coach. I'm struggling...

Re: Looking for some MTHFR help

I also have extremely high B12. Is there such a thing as a MTHFR coach I could hire to help sort out my problem?

Re: Healing the gut

I follow Dr Gundry's diet and have read a couple of his books. I appreciate the extreme importance he places on gut health, but I simply can't believe some of his claims about how quickly and easily the gut microbiome can be reestablished and corrected. I listened to Chris Kresser's podcast with Luc...

Re: Lifelong ketosis considerations?

Josiah, I'm sorry to hear of your frustrations. I remember a Q&A session from one of the Low Carb Conferences I went to where a person was frustrated at not having experienced greater progress after something like a year of dietary carbohydrate restriction and the answer given was these things ...

Re: Lifelong ketosis considerations?

Sorry to hear this Josiah. I apologize if you've mentioned this in another post: are you testing your ketones? If so, what method and what are the results? Are you getting enough to eat, or do you get "hangry" or have a sudden drop in energy that improves slowly after eating? Have you los...
