Re: New member with some questions...

I downloaded my information from Prometheus, Genetic Genie and Nutrahacker. I’m COMT G/G rs6269 & rs165722 and MTRR G/G & MTR G/G (which I think is not good based on my research, am I correct?). It’s extra confusing because many recommendations on these reports contradict each other (Take m...

Re: Between a kidney stone and a hard place

I have always imagined there was an unhealthy user bias going on among breakfast skippers and their poorer metabolic outcomes. So I will read deeper and adjust accordingly. As an aside, I am stunned by how much extra sodium I have been consuming despite an almost exclusively whole food diet. Mustar...

Re: Between a kidney stone and a hard place

Lastly, if you have an opinion, or would hazard one, do you think continuing a ketogenic diet at 2000 mg of sodium is unwise? I can’t imagine going back to being pre-diabetic, but I can’t imagine being a stone former either. A conundrum. It is a conundrum. I'm still sorting out the keto thing, whic...

Re: Between a kidney stone and a hard place

What type of urine analysis have you had done? Do you know if you have hypercalciuria or hypocitraturia? How is your oxalic acid output now? Sodium seems to be very important to reduce, and especially if you have hypercalciuria. AUA recommends no more than 2300 mg/day so you're well over their recom...

Re: Celebration Thread! Biogen is going to the FDA with Aducan.

Perhaps this will be more how people understand research in the future, especially if it turns out that every type of AD is its own snowflake. I think you probably are closer than anyone here, at least in terms of the genetics, in understanding how each of us is unique enough to require different a...

Re: Microbleed and white matter

Two years ago a MRI of my brain was made and they found white matter lesions and one microbleed. Hi caat, and welcome to the group. One tip is to do a search (that magnifying glass icon at the top right) and see what others might have posted (if you haven't already). I see that there have already b...

Re: New Chinese study on protein intake and cognition

When they say "...and daily fish intake...", do they mean that the Apo E4's in the study that ate only fish every day, had a slower cognitive decline, or does it mean that those people ate more fish in general, wrt the others in the study? I can't get to the full article to answer your qu...

New Chinese study on protein intake and cognition

Interaction between APOE ε4 and dietary protein intake on cognitive decline: A longitudinal cohort study We observed significant interactions of APOE ε4 with DDPI [Diverse Dietary Protein Intake] and fish intake, at multiple correction-adjusted Ps < 0.05. In those who were APOE ε4 carriers rather t...

Re: Tudca / Tauroursodeoxycholic Acid

Has anyone found any more about TUDCA? Here's a good overview from 2019. I'd say that more research is still needed. 4. Therapeutic Perspectives and Limitations With all that being said, not every piece of information concerning TUDCA/UDCA activity is so optimistic in pointing to these bile acids a...
