Re: Podcast: Julie Andersen talks about urolithin-A’s potential to prevent and treat neurodegenerative diseases

It's been 1 month and my tremors have reduced I would say by 50%- I am a little shocked, and little skeptical by how much this has helped, but happy. I plan on continuing for another 3 months to see if a further reduction in tremors occurs and how long the effect lasts. What a promising start to th...

Re: Deep Sleep 4/4

The liver secretes enzymes every 12 hours starting with the first calorie your consume. At the end of the 12 hour time frame it stops secreting the enzyme. Do you happen to have a reference for that? I'm in the middle of looking at research on TRE early in the day versus later in the day and want t...

Re: Ideal diet for my Mom APoE 3/4 to gain some weight back

Gaining weight might be a part of controlling the migraines. I have a family member who gets migraines. Skipping meals and stress are 2 big triggers. Given your mom is still losing weight, she is in a calorie deficit, likely experiencing effects of starvation at her weight, so her body is definitel...

Re: Ideal diet for my Mom APoE 3/4 to gain some weight back

I suspect she's about 50lbs at this point. At this low weight I personally would not worry about following the Bredesen recommendations. She needs calories! She might be having trouble digesting fats, and may need more protein and carbs. If you choose high fiber options, like sweet potatoes or squa...

Re: New member with some questions...

I downloaded my information from Prometheus, Genetic Genie and Nutrahacker. I’m COMT G/G rs6269 & rs165722 and MTRR G/G & MTR G/G (which I think is not good based on my research, am I correct?). It’s extra confusing because many recommendations on these reports contradict each other (Take m...

Re: Between a kidney stone and a hard place

I have always imagined there was an unhealthy user bias going on among breakfast skippers and their poorer metabolic outcomes. So I will read deeper and adjust accordingly. As an aside, I am stunned by how much extra sodium I have been consuming despite an almost exclusively whole food diet. Mustar...

Re: Between a kidney stone and a hard place

Lastly, if you have an opinion, or would hazard one, do you think continuing a ketogenic diet at 2000 mg of sodium is unwise? I can’t imagine going back to being pre-diabetic, but I can’t imagine being a stone former either. A conundrum. It is a conundrum. I'm still sorting out the keto thing, whic...

Re: Between a kidney stone and a hard place

What type of urine analysis have you had done? Do you know if you have hypercalciuria or hypocitraturia? How is your oxalic acid output now? Sodium seems to be very important to reduce, and especially if you have hypercalciuria. AUA recommends no more than 2300 mg/day so you're well over their recom...

Re: Celebration Thread! Biogen is going to the FDA with Aducan.

Perhaps this will be more how people understand research in the future, especially if it turns out that every type of AD is its own snowflake. I think you probably are closer than anyone here, at least in terms of the genetics, in understanding how each of us is unique enough to require different a...

Re: Microbleed and white matter

Two years ago a MRI of my brain was made and they found white matter lesions and one microbleed. Hi caat, and welcome to the group. One tip is to do a search (that magnifying glass icon at the top right) and see what others might have posted (if you haven't already). I see that there have already b...
