Lab test result implications

Hi -- I have APOE4, both alleles. I recently found with one of my blood tests, that I have a VERY high Trans.Growth Factor beta1 result - 9100. Does anyone know of any recent research on this factor result? the normal range is 867-6662 in healthy adults. I have read several studies on the internet t...

Re: Sweets

I agree about staying away from the artificial sweeteners, even stevia. I've found I don't miss it as much when I can have a small piece of DARK chocolate. I'm doing 1/4 square of 92% Then I heard that many brands of chocolate contain lead -- some a little, some a lot. So I did some research. The Gh...

Re: San Diego Meet Up

Well, it looks like rain and I definitely don't want to have a picnic in the park in the rain. Did this get specific for March 9? Did a location get defined?

Slacker and Mike, thank you for your responses. I'm not sure how to "tinker" with the resistant starches or which to start with. What should I be checking? Ketones? I thought I'd start with rice. I'm curious WHY these resistant starches seem to be better after cooling. ??

Re: San Diego Meet Up

I'm in San Diego too but beach area (Pacific Beach). Somewhat flexible on days/dates. It would be fun to hook up somewhere central.

Re: pre-diatetes 4/4, A1C, blood glucose, insulin

I agree on the horrified about the insulin resistance as well and add the 4/4 to that. But I've accepted it and am glad that I know now rather than later. Actually, I think Dr. Bredesen and the related research is a huge blessing for all of us, because we can be proactive! I have two questions. Firs...

Re: Keto Diet Ratios

This is helping my motivation, so thank you for the responses. I'll keep adding fat (avocadoes soaked in EVOO sound yummy).

Keto Diet Ratios

I'm reading on this forum that the general rule of thumb for eating on keto diet is 70-75% fat, 15-20% protein, and 5-10% carbs. I'm 4/4. I'm trying to get into ketosis and had concluded that my protein intake (typically 30-50g daily) was not high enough (70-100 recommended for ketosis diet?) but th...

Re: New Member

Thanks Mike, No I got a copy of the bloodwork showing the 4/4. I wish it were the other way, but at least now I know what I'm dealing with, even ahead of my analysis meeting with Dr. Moss.

Re: New Member

Hi Alison, I found Dr. Charles A. Moss by searching for "Bredesen practitioners in San Diego". He's located in La Jolla, off La Jolla Village Drive, and he is a certified Bredesen practitioner. I met with him in early December and we talked about my history and what he does. I found that t...
