recipes?

Julie, I have not been on the site for some time -- I need to come back; I'm missing lots! but for now, I remember a forum or site called "Carolina's Recipes" and there were some great ones. What happened to Carolina? I need some new ideas as I find myself going "out of bounds" t...

Re: skinny!

Thanks for your reply Susan! I do include both sweet potatoes and green bananas in my diet -- I get a bit crazy if I can't. However, my insulin resistance level has gone up recently, and I have a son with type 1 diabetes though there is only one remote relative (my mother in law's brother and she's ...

Hi -- By introduction I'm 75 and APOE4. I've been on the protocol fairly strictly for about 5 years and sinking slowly. That means I have more trouble being consistent, I have a highly social family and friends, so it is difficult to maintain the diet in social occasions but I do m best. My worst no...

Re: Brain Oxygenation-High/Low O2 Exercise

Hi, back to the original post, I heard about Live02 on one of the online conferences put on by Marama. I’m really intrigued but want to try one with my husband who is also interested, before making that investment. I’m APOE4, also have Reynauds Syndrome and low to normal blood pressure. I follow the...

Lab test result implications

Hi -- I have APOE4, both alleles. I recently found with one of my blood tests, that I have a VERY high Trans.Growth Factor beta1 result - 9100. Does anyone know of any recent research on this factor result? the normal range is 867-6662 in healthy adults. I have read several studies on the internet t...

Re: Sweets

I agree about staying away from the artificial sweeteners, even stevia. I've found I don't miss it as much when I can have a small piece of DARK chocolate. I'm doing 1/4 square of 92% Then I heard that many brands of chocolate contain lead -- some a little, some a lot. So I did some research. The Gh...

Re: San Diego Meet Up

Well, it looks like rain and I definitely don't want to have a picnic in the park in the rain. Did this get specific for March 9? Did a location get defined?

Slacker and Mike, thank you for your responses. I'm not sure how to "tinker" with the resistant starches or which to start with. What should I be checking? Ketones? I thought I'd start with rice. I'm curious WHY these resistant starches seem to be better after cooling. ??
