Re: Just discovered I'm 4/4

Hi Julestra, I discovered I was an e4/e4 on 23andme. I had joined because I wanted to use the genealogy info and the health info was a bonus. Like you I only had no close family members with Alzheimers. When I joined APOE4.info it inspired me to improve my health. I had yoyo dieted all my life. Now ...

Re: Biomarker Test for "measuring" one's state-of-health

John34, I'm very impressed with all the changes you have made. I'm interested in getting a FITBIT and all the stats you got from yours sounded like a model I might be interested in. Is (charge 3) the model number?
Thanks

Re: History of our treatment struggles

JerryB, what an amazing, caring, partner you are. Your wife is so fortunate to have such a good husband who is so loving and so resourceful in working to find the best solutions to the many aspects of this disease. I'm not a caretaker myself. I'm the almost 83 year old e4/e4 that might be needing tha...

Re: Surgery

Hello adventure, I can't tell you anything scientific about the risk, but I can tell you about my own experience. I had my hip replaced when I was 66. I'm about to be 83 and I am a e4/e4. Not being able to move around comfortably, when lack of exercise makes us susceptible to all kinds of ailments, ...

Re: Scared!

Hi CindiRN, I want to add my welcome to the list. I like NF52 description of herself as being an older ApoE 4/4 sister. I'm another older ApoE 4/4 sister who will be turning 83 soon. As others have commented, there is lots of valuable information on this site that, if followed, will help keep your b...

Re: BRCA

Hello ktg000, Starfish here saying welcome back! I'm an e4/e4. I don't believe I have any BRCA genes but did have breast cancer when I was 43. I'm 82 and really closer to 83 so that makes it 40 years ago. Just keep yourself as healthy as you can with all the good information on the forum. We are all...

Re: Any NORCAL folks interested in a get together?

Thanks to Mike for organizing the meetup and PSu for the excellent summary. It was a lovely day and a perfect location for the meetup. I certainly got some good ideas and enjoyed being with the group. I left feeling extra motivated by our friends accomplishments.
