Re: apoe4 children have lower IQ`s ?
Thank you for that information. As a scientist, I'm interested in ongoing research and might be interested in participating (I'm 70). I'll check out the links.

Re: apoe4 children have lower IQ`s ?
I'm a 4/4 and my childhood IQ was measured in the 140s. Never had any trouble learning stuff. I have lots of other problems I associate with APOE 4/4, but not intelligence.

What one test should I add?
I'm new to the awareness of my 4/4 status. The Bredesen diet is very close to what I've been using for years for autoimmune conditions. And I get monitored regularly for inflammation markers, metabolic panel, CBC, serum Na, K and Ca, TSH, etc. But I might be able to add another test at some point to...

Re: Can Herpes Zoster ophthalmicus (Shingles) affect the Alzheimer's brain?
Should a Shingrex vaccination be standard for 4/4s? Is there any reason to avoid it?

Re: APOE 4/4 Specific diet - Dr. Gundry or not?
Thank you, SusanJ. My story is very similar to yours. I was diagnosed with the autoimmune diseases Lupus and Sjogrens about 12 years ago and started taking immunosuppressants. I went dairy free and gluten free right away, then added lots of veggies. Then went vegan GF, and finally, when The Paleo Mo...

Re: Double 4/4 Thread. Unique health pathways?
Sarah Ballantyne (ThePaleoMom.com) claims that if you cook a white potato and let it cool, the cooled starch is then a resistant starch. Anyone have additional info on that?

Re: Alzheimer's and "Death with Dignity"
Another factor to be considered in Alzheimer's care is the cost. When my husband and I are no longer able to work (I'm the older at 70), we will have only social security checks and some equity in our mortgaged home. We have one child who is wonderful and like so many young people lives month to mon...

Re: Hello in there!
Thanks for the info. The two classes I'm looking at at the gym are Zumba (aerobics, reflexes, mental concentration - I'm pretty uncoordinated, and humility!) and strength training (sarcopenia) on alternate days. Zone 2 is about what I can exercise in those classes. I'm imagining you balancing on the...

Hello in there!
Hello - I'm new to the forum. It looks like it's filled with good information. According to 23andme, I have two copies of the APOE e4 genes, predisposing me to LOAD. I think I also have variants for ARMD (A69S and 4402H). I'm 70 yo and in pretty good health considering some autoimmune conditions (Lu...
