Re: Dental crown replacement with zirconia or ceramic?

I've always used porcelain or ceramic for crowns, without known issue. Recently needed an implant for a middle upper front tooth. Most all the implant dentists where I live use titanium. I found a lab in Germany that would test for allergies with a blood sample. Only problem is I live in the US and...

Dental crown replacement with zirconia or ceramic?

What material should we choose for a dental crown replacement on a molar tooth? Zirconia, porcelain or ceramic? I heard zirconia is more durable but it's a metal after all (!) and I am worried about the problems that come along with having metal in your mouth over a long period of time (toxicity?). ...

Re: Nocturnal hypoglycemia and high morning glucose (Freestyle Libre 2)

Since the Libre only downloads to a Windows machine, I'd have to get a Windows Laptop out of storage to see accurate numbers, but I recall the Libre was showing numbers like 130 mg /dL and morning finger sticks were in the 50's mg/dL (which I would expect on an extended fast). I agree! That is for ...

Re: Nocturnal hypoglycemia and high morning glucose (Freestyle Libre 2)

Are the episodes awakening him? If so, a healthy fat snack, like avocado slices or nuts may help him get into ketosis and sleep more comfortably until he can slowly heal the underlying insulin resistance. It's also pretty common to have morning glucose elevations due to the "dawn phenomenon&qu...

Re: Nocturnal hypoglycemia and high morning glucose (Freestyle Libre 2)

Thank you Julie and Tincup for you replies. My Dad is taking Vitamin C as one of his supplements, so maybe the numbers are showing a little higher than they really are. Is there anything I can do about it? How much higher are the numbers with Vitamin C intake? Julie, My dad does usually not wake up ...

Nocturnal hypoglycemia and high morning glucose (Freestyle Libre 2)

My Dad has been on the Bredesen Protocol since March 2020. Strictly following the KetoFlex 12/3 diet, taking supplements and regular exercise (walking twice a day), we have achieved some incredible improvements in his overall health. One thing we don't get under control is his blood sugar. His HGA1c...

Re: Can Herpes Zoster ophthalmicus (Shingles) affect the Alzheimer's brain?

My father also seemed to suffer cognitively with the onset of shingles, and that was shortly before he was diagnosed with AD. It made enough of an impression on me that I decided to get the shingles vaccine recently even though I tend to avoid other vaccines due to the fear of toxins. I wish I had ...

Re: Does Herpes Zoster affect the brain of Alzheimer's patients

Hi there, I am new to the forum and briefly wanted to introduce myself. My name is Britta and I am 48 years old and live in Los Angeles. I heard about Dr. Bredesen when he introduced his book at our local bookstore in Manhattan Beach. My father was diagnosed with Alzheimers about 10 years ago. He l...

Re: Can Herpes Zoster ophthalmicus (Shingles) affect the Alzheimer's brain?

...Christmas Day 2019 he came to a family Christmas celebration and had a terrible bruise/rash on his eye and forehead. He said a branch fell from a tree and hit him in the face. After two more days the infection got really bad and my mom took him to the hospital. Long story short, he was diagnosed...

Re: Can Herpes Zoster ophthalmicus (Shingles) affect the Alzheimer's brain?

Does anybody know if Herpes Zoster ophthalmicus (or Shingles on and above the eye) affects the brain of Alzheimer's patients in a different way than normally? So sorry to hear this about your father. I don't have direct experience with this, but herpes zoster and HSV are certainly linked to AD in s...
