Re: Just found out APOE 4-2 copies

I feel your pain. I have the same genes, as does my older brother. I believe you have jumped to reasonable conclusions. But, as you probably know, anxiety is trouble in itself. I am 67, so too old to be your peer. Still, if you wish, please write me at ericlouisrosenblatt@gmail.com I do not believe ...

Re: How to change size of lipid particles

The key ingredient in tramiprosate is called homotaurine in Europe and Canada, where it is a nutritional. I order the homotaurine from Europe and take 300 mg a day. It gives me a little heartburn, nothing much. Both certain statins and homotaurine seemed to work for e4/e4, when the data for trials w...

Re: How to change size of lipid particles

Wow! What a great and genuine answer, NF52. As for the methylcobalamin, it looks like it is a vitamin. I quickly tried to find some papers on it but it looks like that will be a longer effort. I am writing a sort of book to hold all my findings, partly because otherwise I will forget I ever looked i...

Re: How to change size of lipid particles

Oh, I reread your post - you are taking atorvastatin, like me. I think that works too. My son thinks that is OK. Still, I wonder if I should switch to simvastin. The paper is about a 40 mg dose, and there is better data on simvastatin. Is 10 enough for the same effect? Possibly, but the paper is abo...

Re: How to change size of lipid particles

Hi, I do not mean to be too chatty,Fiver, but I like how you wrote and you seem like a nice person; also I did not really answer your questions. I certainly do not want to argue that anybody's point of view is wrong. They could well be right, whether I agree or not. But I am basically a stats nerd (...

Re: How to change size of lipid particles

Thanks for writing back. I don’t necessarily want to post this, but I want to acknowledge your comment. I have already lost some intellect and expect to fail if I don’t stop it I don’t trust my instincts but do think I can still read the literature, sort of. This was my job, though in economics. Thi...

Re: How to change size of lipid particles

I wonder if certain statins could be helpful is resisting dementia for those of us who have two APOE e4 genes. I ask this based on a paper which reanylzed the data on tests of statins that did not work in general to slow Alzheimer’s. The statistics on us homozygotes were actually pretty positive. I ...
