Re: has anyone tried semax?
... have been very helpful for my lupus. I also tried Thymosin Beta-4. I take all the supplements you mentioned (and many more!), but do not take Rapamycin. Thanks for sharing! I'm always interested in what I can do to maintain my brain health, as well as overall health and wellness. Take care, ...

Re: Rapamycin prevents age-related brain vascular deterioration in rats
I'm sorry, I forgot to note... I listened to a long podcast with Peter Attia in which he had Isaacson on, and in that podcast they briefly discussed statins as well, and they both agreed that for APOE4 carriers they aren't fans of using statins unless really necessary. If you all listen to Attia, it...

... my decent cholesterol numbers. To get back to the original topic, I also just recently joined this online group specifically to read more about rapamycin and whether its adviseable for APOE4 carriers.

Re: Rapamycin prevents age-related brain vascular deterioration in rats
I should also note that I am apoe3/4... my mother's family all have high cholesterol, several of her relatives are on statins. My mother refused statins and is the one who got alzheimers. Yet she's also the one who got lupus, and I tend to think there may be some association with that. As for me, m...

Re: Rapamycin prevents age-related brain vascular deterioration in rats
Hi! Thanks so much for your detailed feedback. One "expert" I listened to in Peter Attia's podcast is neurologist Richard Isaacson. He is a proponent of statins in general but his opinion is that for people with apoe4, statins may not be ideal. Here's an excerpt I copied and pasted from an...

Re: Rapamycin prevents age-related brain vascular deterioration in rats
Hello, I know this is a rapa discussion but noticed you said you took simvastatin. I am curious about statins because it seems that most "experts" I've listened to say that APOE4's are different from others and should stay away from statins because we already are at risk of brain shrinkag...
